Ok, get someone else who can find the middle ground between a Chafee and a Kyl or Inhoffe and a Snowe..a guy that gets Bush's tax cuts through in '01 can't be altogether a putz, same with getting the capital gains tax cut from 28% to 20% in 1997..under Clinton. He isn't a Whip, he does what is possible...and it's why the Senate is such a frustrating body filled with pompous gasbags.
I think Lott has a better idea of what is possible than anyone on FR and his lifetime ACU rating of 93 may just back that up.

BET shoulda let "Hip-hop's dopest MC" interview Lott.

Did you expect anything different?
To: FryingPan101
I hope you still don't want him to stay after this.
To: OReilly
Did others notice the tape editing?\
What? Did they have to edit in a spine---so Trent wouldn't flop over in the chair?

Originally I thought Lott was attacked for nothing. And while it was unfair, the media was having a field day. But though it is unfair, the mistake is still Lott's, and now he has become a liability to our party. He shouldn't resign the Senate, but he should resign the leadership position. If Lott even breathes a HINT of "can me and I'll quit to ruin the majority" blackmail, may he be cursed with 1000 stinging insects!

You got it! Great photoshop...

Really, you ought to be fair. The guy's career, and reputation, is going up in smoke and you think it requires sarcasm.Youse a peach.
Have a Merry Christmas, asshole.

Well, what are people going to think of that? He's going to make more mistakes in this regard? Good grief. It's truly a shame that we are all not vituecrats. If we were all able to go through life mistake free like you, the world would be a much better place.
To: rs79bm
Can you believe the chutzpah of this man, blatantly pointing out that as SML - he's in the position to hand out plenty of goodies? This is why he is completely untenable now. The taxpayer should not be fleeced to pay bribe money to make amends for this dingbat's statements.
To: scannell
Lott, please give a better reason for not voting for the Martin Luther King Holiday in which you said it would cost too much like you said at the press conference.
To: don-o
Yeah, shoot, he could have just skipped one of those intelligence briefing to take care of this little problem. What does the lives of Americans mean compared to who is senate majority leader.
You see, the purpose of HAVING a majority leader is to take care of these little problems.
To: steveegg
Lott stammered through the first question ("Just what did you mean by that remark?") badly. Embarrassing. He just described his "changing" as "evolutionary"? weird.
I can't believe this...he is NOW being portrayed a the reformed racist and talks like he is therefore some kind of expert on the subject.
He was just a "racist" a week ago.
Who is going to fall for this?

No BET here. Could you give some specifics as to questions and answers? Thanks in advance.
To: Senator Pardek
Couldn't assuming I wasn't being my usual brilliantly witty self be viewed as anti-Pardek? Guilty.

This is just horrible to watch.....

It is never pretty to see a grown man grovel. If you lay down, they are gonna want to kick you. I would have had more respect for Lott if he had refused to apologize and said, "Look. I was just trying to kiss up to the old man on his birthday to make myself look good. If you people want to read more into it, fine. But I think that reading racism in that says more about your own attitudes than mine."
Him apologizing like this just makes him look guilty.
To: OReilly
Talk about editing; about the time that Lott got something resembling a bit of momentum rolling, they went to break.
To: habs4ever
Again, compare his record with Hastert. Hastert has an equally thin margin in a body much less insulated from elections and does much better. All that aside, history will forever show that it was Lott more than any other man who turned a "trial" into a charade. What did his "niceness" get him, or us, in the end?
As to the ACU, I would much rather put my trust in the National Taxpayers Union.
To: rs79bm
Sorry for the mistake, taht should have been virtuecrats. I swear I'll do betta.
