I'm having a hard time jumping on this band wagon. I think Trent Lott is a pacifist, a politician, a compromiser, even a coward....but I don't think he's a racist by definition and action. He stands accuse of being a racist.

A perfect example of how he is willing to sell out the Republican agenda to save his own career. He must go. "GOP agenda? Screw that - over the side with it...Principles of fairness and EQUAL opportunity...Hey! That's gone too." I knew this would happen. Here is Trent Lott, selling out every which way there is left - all to save his worthless reign. Everybody take a good look.

"Like a train wreck."Worse.
Hi Katie.

It must make the black members of his staff feel great to know that they are only there because they are affirmative action hires. This poor guy is digging the hole deeper for himself.

The AdEd commercials are fantastic. Why have I never seen them on any other channel?

Have a Merry Christmas, asshole. Habs, I realize what is happening to him. Sure, he made a mistake. And the media is helping this spiral out of control. I made an observation. There is no need to resort to namecalling.

Very nice to see you!

Lott:I'm for affirmative action Ed:you only have one black on your staff
Lott and other Senators would get sued btw, if they were a business. Lott has 1 black staffer out of 65 right now, in a state that is 36% black. From 72 to 88, he hired 5 blacks out of 163. That would get the EEOC on your tail in any business except the congress.

Sorry, there was a great O'Reilly thread earlier in the day..

Lott is being made to look like a groveling fool and an ass. This man is no leader.
To: FryingPan101
Fine. I don't think he is a racist either but I think he deserves a long overdue ousting for stupidity. If this isn't the final nail in the coffin (proof-wise), what is?

Pickering.......down the tubes
To: Norman Arbuthnot
Now he just stabbed Pickering in the back

I don't know how this is playing to the black audience...to me, Lott is coming off as a desperate man, ready to pander, grovel, whatever it takes...
I don't know whether this makes him look as though he's really apologetic & realizes he did something stupid (but really DIDN'T mean it the way it sounded), or whether it just appears that he'll do ANYTHING to stay in power....

What did he say about Pickering? We don't get it out here for 3 hours?
To: Jorge
Would you buy a used car from Trent Lott?
To: dogbyte12
Pickering is toast. Does anyone believe that Lott will stand up for him?
To: LurkerNoMore!
But I did just learn Lott is a practicing affirmative actionist. Yikes.
They just listed his voting record against civil rights etc. and his response was to talk about all the blacks he has hired and knows and that his "actions" speak louder than his voting record.
Huh?

Lott just said he favors affirmative action "across the board." A perfect example of how he is willing to sell out the Republican agenda to save his own career. He must go. Gosh. Think what we might find out about him if he offended the homosexuals.

I wonder if he realizes the BET audience is a tad larger tonight.
