I too didn't know the teacher misspelt (sic) it until Quayle explained it in an interview ..of course the biased media ignored it.

I can't get over how bad he sounded last night. I would have thought he would have had much better advice on how to reply to the accusations etc..

What's sad wrt:the black civil rights activist..is they think that legislation will cure society ills. All they have to do is look at our criminal code and see how it doesn't prevent crime in the inner city. How do they expect legislation to "help" them?

Because I THOUGHT this argument was about whether Trent Lott was a racist. At least, that's what it started out over. Have we now moved on to his other sins?

So many people in so many days have explained in so many different ways to you what this is about, yet you persist to frame it the way you feel puts you in some sort of superior position. That's why your game of calling people racists to test how they would feel being accused of something they're not failed. Character matters and if someone truly isn't what they are accused of AND they have principles and the ability to articulate same they have nothing to fear from spinmeisters and liars. Lott has left many questions hanging in the air. I just saw my first clip on tv of this interview. Have you seen any of it yet? I'd like your take after watching it. And from I can tell, this was his idea. He said last Friday, when asked, that he knows the owner of BET as he hails from Mississippi and this fellow called Lott and offered the interview and Lott said he accepted.

Absolutely....it's what the rats have done so sucessfully for years...bribing one community after another to keep the gravy train going. His comments regarding re-thinking his support of Pickering is along those same lines. I am embarassed and appalled by Lott, beyond that, what's with the constant apology stream? God, I'm relieved the rest of the country is finally getting to see what an ex-cheerleading girly-man he really is.

Carville was the ass Bill Clinton rode into town on. When it came time for Bill to leave town, he gee-hawed, spiked Carville in the ribs with his stirrups, and rode him into the sunset of irrelevance.

Reagan deliberatly visited the cemetery at the request of Helmut Kohl. He then proceeded to visit a concentration camp. He sihed to show forgiveness for one and pay homage to the victims at the other.

Lott's disgusting display on BET clearly demonstrated an utterly naive/ignorant understanding of politics and values. He was utterly unable to mount a defense in support of core conservative values eg on affirmative action. No, I cannot tell anyone who he should vote for, but I would hope that reasonable Mississippians would select someone who can better articulate their values and beliefs in better conservative fashion than this self centered and self concerned totally unsavvy man. Mr Lott - graciously resign the leadership position NOW! and remain in the Senate. Your loyalty to the party - and to its guiding principles demands this.

What you said above was true, but aks yourself this question: did it stop the leftie media and the Democrats in criticizing Reagan for the trip? And the last time I checked, Thurmond apologized for his past over 40 years ago.

Apparently Carville is now offering forgiveness to Lott and says he will not bring up Lott's statements in the future. A couple of days ago you posted a reply to me suggesting that I was crazy to think that Carville was not ravenous to get Lott ousted.
