Total of 26,844 Promotions during current state "Hiring Freeze" (California outrage alert)
Capitol Weekly (Sacramento, CA) ^ | December 16, 2002 | Saundra Duffy

Posted on 12/16/2002 12:50:56 PM PST by Saundra Duffy

According to this week's edition of "Capitol Weekly" (Sacramento CA) 1,879 state employees were promoted during October 2002 alone - right in the thick of the "hiring freeze" instituted by Gov. Gray Davis due to the budget crisis in the state. LOL! Names of the people getting promoted, departments & SALARIES are printed in this paper! LOL!!

In addition, a total of 26,844 promotions DURING CURRENT STATE HIRING FREEZE have taken place. LOL!! Again, names of the lucky people who got promotions, along with department & SALARY, are printed, too. LOL!!!!

And finally, over 500 new state vacancies are advertised in this same edition of "Capitol Weekly".

They want you to sign up for January 14, 2003, "How to Get a State Job Workshop", and here's the pitch:

"The best time to land a new or better state job is during a hiring freeze! Why? Headlines discourage thousands of the applicants; therefore fewer apply to meet the state's continuing and critical hiring needs -- your chances are better! The last 8 workshops have sold out - don't wait until the last minute - sign up today! Cost $55/Person Call (916) 444-7665!"

Wow. What a foul, corrupt, stinking mess California is.
No wonder the Republicans have said that tax hikes are totally and completely off the table. Good for them. Their position is a position of decency and integrity. Any Republican who caves in to Democrat tax hikes should have his (or her) scumbag rear-end recalled, just like the GOP party chairman said.

You're right. The democraps kept the budget crisis pretty well under wraps with help from media. The general public didn't know how bad it was until AFTER the election. FIGURES.
