I think that's a little excessive. Canada's a great country, and it would probably be my third choice (after the US and Australia) as a country to live in.

That said, I think it would be great if Alberta and BC struck it out on their own and became independent countries. Conservative competition by neighboring countries would only work to make our own government better!

There are a number of former members of the American diplomatic presence in Tehran from the 1970's that might disagree with you.

I can start with the nickel that came from Sudbury that hardened the shells that fell on the beaches of Normandy and begin the list from there. Or I can start with the aero and space specialists that fled to NASA and other agencies after we abandoned our programs.

Falling off the tracks lately? Sure. We ARE goverened by loons, most certainly at the federal level, and frankly that's a polite way of putting it. We'll work it out.

Useless? Hardly. Ask the American lads serving in Afghanistan if they appreciated the sniping skills of the Princess Pats. Just make sure you have a place to run to after you call them useless. :-)

Well........agree on the second part..........but you're off on the first. Canadians are a fine people, and I'm glad they're our neighbors and friends. I've done a lot of business up there. True, they have become far too brainwashed on issues like gun rights, socialized medicine, etc.........but that's all eminently fixable. They'll also give you the shirt off their back and are incredibly hospitable people........AND hard working.

I'll take the rank-and-file Canadians any day of the week, and I'll avoid labeling them for the sins of their idiotic government much as I'd hope they don't hold Bill Clinton, et al, as examples of "typical Americans".

if it was rude, stupid, and ill-considered for a canadian to call bush a moron, please apply the same rules to yourself. we are not all morons, several have IQs at least equal to yours. nor are all who govern us loons. let us respect ALL north americans. yes, we are the mouse and you are the elephant, but we do share the same bed. since we need to get along, let us start by using the common courtesy of calling each other by respectful names. we might be the mouse, but we can be the mouse that roared. you need our water. you need our air space. you need our cooperation. think back to clinton. were you proud of him? do you think we are proud of chretien? there is a legal process. what makes our countries great is that we do follow the legal process. it took you a while to get the republicans in. give us time. canadians are not known for assassinating our legally elected leaders. we do this by ballot. and in western canada, that takes a lot of doing. instead of calling us names, you might try calling on god to help us help ourselves. thanks for listening.
