"...during the last three years more than 17,000 American scientists, including geophysicists, climatologists, meteorologists, and oceanographers, have signed the Oregon Petition declaring that "There is no convincing scientific evidence that human release of . . . greenhouse gasses is causing or will, in the foreseeable future, cause catastrophic heating of the Earth's atmosphere and disruption of the Earth's climate." The pettition has been around a while and it's been quite a while since they updated the list, so I suspect that they have well over 20,000 bonafide signers by now.

If you really want to have fun...listen around to NPR on Fridays and about every two months...they bring some idiot on to talk just on global warming....call the idiot up and ask what effect the sun has on global warming...and listen to the 4 seconds of silence. They will try to move the subject along and avoid this whole discussion. None of the 'experts' want anything to do in explaining the sun's effect...because none...quote NONE unquote....of them have any background in sun activity. They have no knowledge or education involving anything beyond earthly matters....and thats where the whole joke fails.
