"There Has Been No Global Warming for the Past 70 Years, the Arctic - which according to essentially all climate models is supposed to be the harbinger of things to come for the rest of the world - is not yet as warm as it was in the late 1930s and early 1940s. In fact, because temperatures were so high for so long back then, the authors report that linear regression trends calculated from the 1920s to the present show a small but statistically significant cooling tendency." This is from CO2 Science Magazine, written by Sherwood Keith and Craig Idso, appearing December 11, 2002.
What one is not told, is that there were five reports submitted to the environmental committee studying global warming. Only one report mentioned global warming. One out of five! So, the scientists with their on agenda to push, chose the report that said there was global warming.
I suggest everyone read "the skeptical environmentalist" by Bjorn Lomborg. He has chapters on global warming, forestation, etc. Lots of fact, graphs and quotes which you can use to debunk the global warming alarmists.

I second your endorsement of
SE, and add a caution.
Don't lend it out, it never comes back. LOL.

I keep bringing this up too.....
is not yet as warm as it was in the late 1930s and early 1940s.
The dust bowl and drought of the 1930s. The hot spell in the 1940s. 1948 was still our hottest on record here. I guess it was all those SUVs? No? They hadn't been invented yet? Darn, guess it wasn't the cars then..... Must have been natural climate cycles....
