I just talked to a legislative director for a huge labor organization and he 1.) wants Lott to stay and 2.) doesn't want Nickles. Why not Nickles? He says he is too smart and 'knows strategy'. As far as I'm concerned, that's a ringing endorsement.

Oklahoma is a right-to-work state...the labor bosses hate Oklahoma with a passion.

Yes, but that's not the reason they don't want Nickles. They want Lott right where he is. With Lott there, they get a twofer. They can roll Lott and don't have to deal with Nickles.
