Pardon the vanity, but here's a thought that's bouncing around in my head.
Democrats are slandering Lott, and trying to spin the message that, in addition to his racially insensitive comments, Lott's "conservative" positions (who are they kidding) are further evidence of his racism.
Once again, being conservative is being a racist. So I say, let's confront this one head on.
Historically, after slavery ended, nothing held back the advancement of black people in this country more than labor unions, which 100 years ago made sure that blacks coming north did not get jobs that were being given to white immigrants. And today, many of these unions remain predominantly white, with the continued support and the blessing of this vestige of racism by the Democrat party.
So let's turn the tables on the Dems. Being a CONSERVATIVE is racist? Hah. How about being a Democrat - who supports labor unions that continue to deny good jobs to minorities - is racist. Let's challenge the Dems to either insist upon racial quotos for unions, or in the alternative, support right-to-work legislation to repair this historical racial injustice.
Framing the right-to-work debate it this way would put the two major Democrat constituencies - unions and minorities - at odds with each other. And the Rats would be forced to choose: be anti-unoin, or be anti-minority.

It's not his conservatism that's at issue. It's his character and, most recently, the fact that he has openly defied the leader of his party.
And oh by the way, this axis is managed by corruption--$$$. You wouldn't be telling them anything they don't know. But guess what? They don't care. You think you know anything about party bosses and unions that Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson don't know? You think you have anything to teach them?
Lott has been warned and warned for twenty years. Just like Joe McCarthy, he won't listen. And now he's about to meet Godzilla. He's gone. You watch.

Very true...BUT...I was just thinking about something interesting...
There was a post tonight showing PHOTOS of UN Weapons Inspectors having to WAIT for more than TWO HOURS to get in to inspect a building, i.e. a VIOLATION TRIGGER.
There were also PHOTOS of Iraqi sites of NUCLEAR PLANTS, i.e. ANOTHER VIOLATION TRIGGER.
There was also another post about 27,000 RESERVISTS being called into action IMMEDIATELY.
I'm starting to think the WAR is IMMINENT (sp?) and the current Lott story may not last until Sunday.
That said, I'll be thrilled to see Twit Twat go. We can do better.

Forty and 50 years ago the Democratic party was the party of Labor. In recent decades the Democratic party has become about abortions, homosexuality, and other countercultural issues with the Republicans a few years behind the Democrats. Neither party bothers to appeal to labor. Labor's jobs and industries are being shipped out of the country while labor is given little alternative in elections. That's one probable reason why voter turnout is so low.
To the extent labor still votes Democratic it's because of tradition and momentum. Mostly, labor had been made irrelevant in American politics. The idea of making the Democrats choose between minorities and labor is ludicrous.
