Democrats, NOW, and NAACP accuse him of racism and call for his resignation.

My kids are going to inherit my farm. What does that make them?

You must have been very happy with Clinton in office.

Since I don't like Bubba-2,what makes you think I liked Bubba-1? There is no practical difference between the two.

I don't know. Why don't you tell me. While you're at it,why don't you tell me what this has to do with Bubba-2 and his ranch? Are you under the impression he inherited it? He didn't. He bought it because he was a Texas politician, and needed to buy the lifestyle. He's never been a rancher. He grew up in the oil business, and did seem to inherit some oil deals and business partners, though.

You think he bought his ranch only for political appearances?

Since you are so insightful: Why did I buy my farm? You must know.

We all work with what we are given. You were fortunate enough to have been born, by happenstance, in the greatest Nation on this earth...as a free man.

Would you give up those advantages because someone in South Africa says you were born on third base and think you hit a triple?

Help!!!! I cannot possibly read 900+ posts. What is the overall breakdown here percentage wise? How many defending Lott and how many wanting him to step down?

Although never a Lott fan myself, he now has my full support. Despite his ill-conceived comments, we all know he is not a segregationist. He got carried away at an old man's burthday and enough is enough. Anyone calling for his removal is playing into the race baiter's hands.

The double standard in this country is galling. When Republicans play along I remember why we are the "Stupid Party." No Rat ever resigns, except when they are a crook and an election loss is imminent (Torricelli).

The Rats have a rapist/perjurer (Clinton), an adulterer who lies to the police impedes an investigation and is possibly a murderer (Condit), an ex-Klansman who recently said the "n" word on TV and is in the line of succession (Byrd), a man who drove off a bridge and left a woman to drown (Kennedy), a Senator who got kicked off the intelligence commitee for leaking sensitive information (Leahy), a Congressman whose lover was running a prostitution ring out of his home (Frank), and on and on and on. . .. .

Do Rats ever step down, evcept for Toricelli? No! And that was at the last minute because his goose was cooked. What exactly did Lott do??? He praised a very old man on his birthday. A man who has long since ceased being a segregationist. Lott probably wasn;t even thinking of his past. He was just honoring an old man. Big deal. The way some "conservatives" have turned on him is a disgrace. This sensitivity to the race baiters will spell the defeat of our party. Lott is no more a segregationist then anyone else in our party. Despite his weakness in the past, we need to stand up for him and laugh these ridiculous allegations away. It is us (the right) vs, them (the left). Lott is one of the good guys. The way we eat our own is disgraceful.

I'm disgusted with many of the posters and some of our lradership right now. Aren't we smart enough and strong enogh not to fall into the race baiter's trap??

This is just an estimate, but,I would say it is 80-20 in favor of Lott resigning the leadership. And,many in the 80 say it is the cumulative Lott they want to step down, not just for this episode. It would be interesting to see some type of demographic breakdown of this,as folks who have "come of age" in the ninteties are at an obvious disadvantage when it comes to judging whats real and whats phony baloney clintononics.

"Do Rats ever step down, evcept for Toricelli? No!"

We need to clean our own house first.

If my kid steals, I will deal with that first. I don't want to hear how the kid down the block got caught stealing also.

Jesus did not say: "Go and sin until your neighbor sins no more."

"What exactly did Lott do??? He praised a very old man on his birthday. A man who has long since ceased being a segregationist."

Dumbass Lott chose to commemorate a time in Strom's past when he was the head of a racist, nigg@r hating lynch mob of a party: Dixiecrats.

Strom has since renounce this. Dumbass Lott applauded it at the party. Dumbass. I bet Strom wants to kick his dumbass.

nothing like acting like a democrat.

This is the most disgusting thing I have heard, and if true, Lott will be hated by his own

I don't know, and I don't care. You aren't a career politician who has the power to change law and international treaties.

Are you REALLY so stupid you think Bush is a rancher? Since that obviously wasn't based on any actual thinking, what was it based on? He owns a truck too, does this make him a trucker? Your obvious identification with him is the precise reason he bought the ranch.

When Bush was running for office, I did not see any commercials: "Vote for me, I own a ranch and that is all I do."
