At a time when Americans of many faiths and even no faith gear up to celebrate Christmas this year, a first-grade teacher in Sacramento Co., Calif., says she's been ordered by her principal not to utter the word "Christmas" at school.
The 24-year education veteran, who wishes to keep her name and the school anonymous at this time, claims she and two fellow instructors were told that use of the word "Christmas" in the classroom or in written materials was now prohibited.

At my kid's Elementary school "winter concert" last night I noticed in the program that, of the eleven song titles in the program, only one title contained the word "Christmas", while two contained the word "Africa".
Speaks for itself. Pathetic.

The reporter got it from a "Karen Holgate" who doesn't identify how she got the information, so it is second hand at best, perhaps even less reliable. The report appears to be single source. There is no way to verify the story - no identification of the teacher, the principal, or the school.
I'll consider this an internet hoax until we get something reliable.

It's banned at the U. S. Capitol as well. You can't have a "Christmas Tree" there, you have to have a "Holiday Tree."

her biggest complaint was the hours she and her husband had to spend sorting their trash.
Sorting trash... what is that?

Rest assured the little kiddies will be getting lessons on how to celebrate Kwanzaa though.
Kwanzaa... you mean that totally fraudulant, idiotic, madeup fake holiday?

I have a question about the pictures you posted. I notice that those captions are put on there by CNN. Is it possible that CNN is who is calling it a "Holiday Tree" and referring to "Holiday Reading", and in fact, nothing official from the White House? I wouldn't put it past CNN.

What a beautiful Holiday tree. Are those Holiday books they are reading?

This is really getting out of hand. How can we fight against this kind of anti-god thinking? We'd better do something soon or we've lost.
What is wrong with ignoring them? And defying them? I'd suggest this child greet everyone with "Merry Christmas!" All day long. I would tell my child to be as obnoxious and in-your-face as possible saying Jesus Loves you and Are you saved? all day long at the school---to the other students of course. For the faculty my child will be primed with "You're all gonna burn in hell!" ----all day long---like a broken record. What are they going to do? Suspend? I'll go to court for that, and take one of Jay Sekulow's lawyers with me for defense. Further I'd countersue under the 1st Amendment ...nor prohibit the free exercise thereof clause that really is in the Constitution. Fight fire with fire.

For those believing that this is an excuse to get your child out of public school, I say:
"STAND AND FIGHT"!
This teacher should say and write CHRISTMAS as much as she pleases.
If it results in her dismissal, she should sue!

My friend told me that you can't just put your trash in a bag and set it out on the curb. The card board must be separated from "dirty" cardboard. Pizza boxes are "dirty" cardboard. Cans must be separated from glass. The liner inside a box of cereal must be taken out of the box and put in a separate container. Grass clippings must be placed no more than 1 foot from the curb and must not extend more than four feet into the yard. Any deviation from the program will result in those items not being picked up by the four or five garbage trucks that come, in a row, at the same time, to pick the crap up.
Recycling is, according to my friend, THE religion of the loony left.

Here in The Peoples Republik of Illinois, we couldn't have a Christmas Tree at our local high school. We now have a 'Holiday Bush'.What's in a name? That which we call a rose, by any other name would smell as sweet.

What a beautiful Holiday tree. Are those Holiday books they are reading? Wow, you must be a Holidaian and you must be following the religion, Holidaianity.

Here in California, we might as well rename our state "Mordor," because there is nothing but darkness. Even Mordor would reject that cesspool
And I should know ...

Good thoughts, Jason. That would work for the school, but can we go further? ACLU and People for the American Way, etc. are behind all this. How do we fight them effectively to gain the rights we had 10 years ago?
