a new study finds that students who are gay or thought to be gay are most likely to be targets Why do we need a "study" to determine what anyone who has ever attended a public school already knows?

Too true.
Look, in school EVERYONE gets picked on. I was picked on and bullied UNMERCIFULLY for being short.
Short, fat, gay/effeminate, holy-roller, geek, nerd -- it all gets picked on and that's just part of life. It teaches kids that the world can be a cruel place and how to fight back. I don't buy this "don't pick on anyone..." stuff -- it's like giving a passing grade to everyone so they fell good.
I think there are rare occasions where teasing and bullying do rise to the level of legal harassment, but that should be a very high threshhold.
