The reason all ER's in Kali have been losing money for 10 years is simple.
The illegal aliens flock to the ER's for all types of treatment from minor finger injuries and sore throats to serious injuries due to their alcoholism and drug use.
If they are on MediCal the hospital can get some reimbursement. Of course MediCal is funded by the taxes of the legal citizens.
If the illegal alien patients in the ER are not on MediCal, they will have no insurance. They will still be treated. If not treated, the ER docs, rns and hospital will be sued.
Of course we, who have health insurance make up the costs of these uninsured illegal aliens.
Gloria Romero knows these facts. However, she would not be in the legislature if not for the illegal votes of the illegal aliens she represents (not the legal taxpaying citizens) in her district!

People can just make their own booze for personal consumption. Who needs the middle, not to mention the tax, man?

Good point. What "minority" (gun owners, smokers, drinkers, etc.) group with they choose to tax more next, figuring the majority won't care enough to make a stink.

They tried this last year with 5c per bullet to pay for trauma centers. Same idea, different subject.

What's next, a tax on fatty foods?Probably. They tried to pass a tax on soda a few months ago.

Five cents tax on every order of french fries. Now there's some real dough.

It's very interesting that no one ever says what you suggest."Control The Spending" in your state and things are bound to get better."Control Spending"? A fine idea that no legislator anywhere in the USA wants to hear.

Everyone has a choice whether or not to pay this tax. And what if they decide to impose the $.05 per round of ammunition tax ?

To: NormsRevenge

And what if they decide to impose the $.05 per round of ammunition tax ?Now the Davis is back and not planning to run again, he will probably sign every damn anti-gun bill that hits his desk. Scott, Perata and Polanco are probably getting writers cramp as the craft some more.
I'm thankful for being out of California and settled in Idaho.

The smokers warned everyone that their methods of enjoyment would eventually get hit by the tax lovers.
To: Centurion2000
In that case, they are infringing on a right that is specifically guaranteed by the 2nd Amendment - there is no comparable Constitutional right cooncerning alcohol.

"At the end of the year, if there were no alcohol injuries, these dollars would be returned to the alcohol distributors" BWAHAHAHA
And I just saw The Tooth Fairy fly past my bedroom window.

"If they pass "hte" tax it might affect my buying, or it might not, but at least I have the choice. That is not the case with income taxes, etc.."Looks like you had one too many already.
