For cookie fans:

I recommend highly Betty Crocker "The Cooky Book". Right now there is a facsimile edition of the 1963 original selling for about 17 bucks. I mean it is intact folks--everything is the same, even the cover. It has probably most of the best loved cookies people remember from those times in it.
My mom had a gingham checked version of their regular cookbook that she got in 1969 and by the time I bought mine nearly 30 years later, they had reduced the cookie section and changed some of the recipes(guess most women just don't bake anymore). I was so pleased to get this(early Christmas gift) and find all those favorite recipes from my mom's book in there--some favorites, Chinese Almond Cookies, Candy Cane Cookies, Russian Tea Cakes, pfefferneuse---yum yum yum!!!

The Clinton Legacy Cookbook

Carlo3b, Angelique, and I spent untold hours putting together The Clinton Legacy Cookbook. It's a collection of some of the funniest food threads from FreeRepublic, cartoons, jabs at the Libs. But it's also a wonderful cookbook, one that you'll want to use over and over again. It also may be the only cookbook that you'll want to read cover to cover.

Angelique was able to see the page proofs, but never got a chance to see the printed book. Pretty sad. But the book has her love and laughter (and some yelling, yikes!) on every page.

I've been baking cookies and making candy all day.
Tomorrow I only have 3 more batches to make and I am done...a grand total of 10 different kinds of cookies.

I screwed up two batches of cocoa fudge....using a candy thermometer, don't know if I want to try again...if I do, Im doing it the old fashion way of cold water and soft ball stage!.....Merry Christmas

Hello out there in Wellington. How's everything? Just wondering if some Freeper has managed to ping you about the Clinton Legacy Cookbook. Our friend, Chef Carlo has just gotten our very own FR cookbook printed and it's hot off the presses. Even if you don't cook, it will tickle your funny bone. I have some of my very favorite recipes in it as well. Great stocking stuffer! Spread the word if you can.

Noelita kindly contributed this wonderful drawing to The Clinton Legacy Cookbook. Just one of the gems you'll find. So glad you became a FReeper, Noelle.

Thanks.
