What's all this about? Partial birth abortion?
I think the reason they're bashing Lott is that he's a conservative Republican and he's the Majority Leader. It unites the Al Sharpton gang, the feminists' gang, the gay rights gang and the gun control gang.
Partial birth abortion is a very narrow issue.

I agree with you. If however, a new vote for leader can be accomplished and he is voted out in an election then I am for it. He is a weak kneed sister and we need power in the job.
To: TLBSHOW
Baloney. I sent an email to my Republican Senator this morning asking him to support a different leader, AND I support a PBA. The only way to get a PBA through is to get a different majority leader.

So from your research, have you been able to determine Senator Frist's position on PBA? He is the president's choice to replace Senator Lott, isn't he?
I've heard he's for the ban, and I've heard he's against it. Realistically in today's society, PBA is the only pro-life legislation that has a chance to pass, so it's important to nail this down.
To: TLBSHOW
TLB, when you support Lott, you are supporting Partial Birth Abortion. Lott is ineffective right now, he won't be able to get PBA passed (it would be "insensitive" to women, and he's very "sensitive" about these things right now).
By taking a pro-Lott stand, you are taking a pro-abortion stance. Which isn't surprising, considering so many liberal Democrats want him to stay.
Apparently you think it's more important that Lott stays in the Senate than it is to ban PBA.

Eventually Republicans are going to have to deal with these incessant, outrageous allegations that they are racists. And getting rid of Lott isn't dealing with them.

Stand with Lott and the left wing policies will be front and center because of Lotts compromised politcal stature. He is toast and it was his fault. Had he just come out and just put this to rest immediately, we all would be talking about what we are getting our kids for Christmas.
You and the Limbaughs are wrong in this issue. You are allowed to not walk lock step you know.

And getting rid of Lott isn't dealing with them. No, getting rid of Lott is the best way to deal with them. Because what Lott said really was racist, there's no denying it. His stupid apologies--he wouldn't even admit what he said or the harm it caused at first--were worthless.
What Lott said harmed our party because it was a REAL example of racism, not just something Jesse might whine about. We can't have that guy in our party if we want to have any credibility on issues like race relations.
We're not held hostage to Jesse Jackson, nobody cares what Jesse thinks. This remark stirred outrage among Repubicans. If it hadn't, Lott wouldn't be in any trouble right now. The next time Jesse gets mad... nobody's going to care. Whether we dump Lott or nott.

This has not very much to do with Trent Lott, it has a lot more of how to disrupt the orderly processes of government.
I agree completely. The RATS want Commie Tommy back as Majority leader. I would like to see Lott step aside as Majority leader, and have the Senate elect comeone like Santorum, Frist, or McConnell. We need to quit eating our own, as Rush says. Therer is way too much at stake. That is why the RATS are trying to divide us.

Your beginning to sound pretty desparate to invent stuff about NOW being after Lott. As much as a doofus as he is I would think they would have Dascles early inclination (i.e., to let it slide) since Lott is so easy to roll.
You might be 1/2 right! It was from NOW but we have come to find out it was Karl Rove and the liberal republicans the most!
