In 1948 or 2002, what issue has more appeal to you?
Federal enforcement of property rights violation in the name of "racial justice" or repealing the New Deal?
Both Dewey and Truman ran as supporters of the New Deal; only Strom stood out in opposition. While its safe to say that like the 1860 election, I probably would have stayed home, I am not so arrogant as to say in 1948, despite the crudeness of Strom's message, that I would not have voted for him.
Dewey was not a Conservative on any issue, and Truman had worked in an Administration that had no problem putting American citizens in concentration camps. To let the media pretend that there is no merit to the issues and the personalities that were debated in 1948 is to let the liberal media tell you what is okay to think.
