Yes he is here legally.
About once a year he goes home for a visit.
Why make the assumption he isn't, and that I'm aiding and abetting?

Too bad you didn't see the point I was making. I was making a comment about work ethic and how people conduct their lives. As I said, there are many Americans who could learn something from him. I've worked with a string of young women who can't seem to keep their pants on (or at least use birth control), or get out of bed to show up for work. Yet their attitude is such that they believe it's all so difficult and they are so put upon and why isn't the gov't making things easier and why don't they get paid for doing nothing. Well geez if you graduated high school and made an attempt at using your brain maybe you wouldn't be so bad off.

As far as people waiting- I've got a friend from Britain who came over here and married his internet girlfriend, has now been here for several years, and the mountains of paperwork and costs are ridiculous, and they are doing everything by the book.

Then he did it wrong... I married a woman from Mexico (the rules are the same for all LEGAL immigration issues) and it wasn't that bad. There are 3 sets of forms and it's a few hundred bucks... IF you get married here. Bringing an alien spouse over is a big can of worms, yes.
