Please convey our admiration for these brave men when you are next in touch. They would probably say they were just doing their job, but that activity seemed to me to be 'above and beyond'. The couple on the sailboat were indeed lucky to be in such capable hands.

I've only crossed a bar a couple of times in a sailboat. - once with great excitement. When you see it ahead, and finally cross into the calm ----well, it is quite an experience. But when you have a mad, angry sea, relentless wind, and a large sailboat in tow -----the whole thought is unimaginable. Bless this crew. They are pretty special!

I've spoken to 2 of them by phone so far.
I see them all every Thur when I am on duty at the station in the Operations Office.
I'm in the Coast Guard Auxiliary but serve on base with the regular crew.
I'll be sure and let them know of FReeper support and prayers for them.
