Fingers crossed, and prayers continuing as the crossing will be attempted at this hour. May God watch over them all.

When that sailboat finally gets back to it's "yatch" club, they will have a lot of thanking to do. That's a large boat for only two to handle - even if under power.

It would be interesting to know the fitness of the sailboat crew, but many 40 - 60 foot yachts are now designed for two people. It is a lot of boat - especially in a bad sea, and you may be right on the money that they had more boat than they could handle. But it could just as easily have been more weather than they could handle - hard to know how people get caught out in some of these storms with the weather predicting equipment available today. Some folks get tired of being banged nearly to death in these kind of storms and break down and call the Coasties - sometimes they're so sea sick that they can't perform basic storm techniques on the boat. I don't envy them this experience.

Thank God, literally, for saving all involved. Coasties are the best!
