We should no longer let the term "racist" frighten us, and make this a party of the true, patriotic American.

So there you have it the rats want to stay focused on Trent Lott they don't want Byrd to have to apologize and they are pointing to the republican right as being the ones upset with Lott. You know all those girly boys like Jonah Goldberg, Laura Ingraham, Andrew Sullivan and Parker. And FR Lott bashers!

She refused to answer Sean's question about there being a double standard - liberals getting a pass and conservatives taking the heat - when it comes to the type of remark that Lott made, and Sean must've asked it 5 times. She may be a talk show host, but a smart and skilled elementary school kid could destroy her in debate.

Leftist attacks on Senator Trent Lott are no surprise, but now pundits on the Right are banging the drums to oust the Majority Leader. As has been widely reported, Lott stated that he was proud that the people of Mississippi supported J. Strom Thurmond’s 1948 states’ rights presidential campaign and that “if the rest of the country had followed our lead, we wouldn't have had all these problems over all these years.” In response, the Family Research Council, National Review Online editor Jonah Goldberg, radio talk show host Laura Ingraham, columnist Andrew Sullivan and others have joined Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton in demanding Lott’s head on a platter.

pundits on the Right our a nightmare!

It was shameful, and I was a bit miffed that Sean let her get away with that. H&C is very frustrating to watch -- marginally intelligent people yelling, talking over each other, and making weak arguments......for both sides.

The democrats are using the right wing writers and Bush.

The democrats don't need to do any more because the right will turn out to be like an ouroboros and eat themselves.

Jesse Lee kicks ass, I really admire that man. I was glad to see Alan Colmes stand up for W after that Yolanda sleaze tried to pin this crap on him as well. One thing I will say for Colmes, although he is wrong about as much as Rush Limbaugh or Sean Hannity is right, he at least is able to remain civil in his tirades; unlike the bulk of liberal scum. That said,I can only hope that this situation will ULTIMATELY result in Lott stepping down as leader, for he is not a leader. He should never have been allowed to resume the leadership position after the shameful debacle he oversaw after the House handed him the ball following the impeachment of Clinton. The power-sharing plan he signed on for following the '00 election demonstrates that he is a eunuch and the eventual loss of the Senate points out that real leadership is what is necessary.

I am astounded beyond belief to think that Republicans would cutoff Lott for such a stupid issue. Sure it was a stupid remark - and I still bear broken glass from the impeachment of the former WH pig. But jeez - Repubs worked SO hard to regain the majority - of freeping EVERYTHING - that was the expresss will of America on 11/05. Yet there are those who would cede the majority - in phases - to the disgenuine "moral indignation" of Rats and their race-baiting supporters. Isn't that a contradiction in terms anyway?
To walk away from the majority would seal it for me. I'd think voting Rep. is like cheering for the Eagles - don't ever get sucked in that far - they'll always find a way to choke somehow. Lott really does suck - but who really thinks that Jesse/Clinton/Kerry or Anyone in the media, does not suck harder than a massive inner-galaxy black hole?
KEEP THE MAJORITY SECURE. ALLOW NOMINATATION OF NON-ACTIVIST JUDGES. THE REST WILL FOLLOW.
Accepting defeat early is not strategic - it's stupid. It's why some call the Reps. the Stupid Party. Even now, Clintonistas are laughing, entertained by their "cleverness". Yes, Reps. do eat their own. All we have to do is press this media button and watch.
But Lott IS an idiot.
