The brand of Republicanism, that Dewey represented, was way to the Left of Thurmond, Goldwater & Reagan. It was also to the Left of Eisenhower, Nixon, Ford, Dole, and both Bushes. It was over Dewey that the term "me too" Republican came into vogue. He offered no change from the New and Fair Deals, only a change in personality.
If you find a preference for a stalwart Conservative over Dewey sickening, that is your privilege. But I do not think you speak for very many Republicans, today, on that. I know that no one appointed you as a gate keeper, to determine whose views are going to be "welcome" in the GOP. Stop this nonsense.
