You missed the point. Nobody in the Democratic Party is taking Lott's comments that seriously -- they're simply continuing an ongoing race-based assault on conservatives that began years ago.

Lott should simply tell us all that he won't have any further comment on the issue until the Democrats explain to the nation why Ted Kennedy is still a standard-bearer for their party all these years after he killed Mary Jo Kopechne. And then they can explain why they found it acceptable to allow a former KKK leader like Robert Byrd to serve as the Senate majority leader for a decade. And why nobody in the Democratic Party was willing to toss a depraved psychopath like Bill Clinton out of office after he committed crimes that would have landed any ordinary citizen in jail.

Case closed.

No, they are taking them seriously. He has said the same thing in the past and has a history of supporting segregation. Why wouldn't you take him seriously? We aren't talking about "putting food on your family" here.

And none of those things have any bearing on whether Trent Lott should be held accountable for his words. Crying hypocrisy isn't a strong argument, it's a concession of the point.

Yep, it sure is-- for Trent "segregation now, segregation tomorrow, segregation forever" Lott.
