Look you dont possibly think I am that dense when it comes to what Liberals are or arent doing.
I know what they want. I know what they are trying to do.
That is seperate from what we [Conservatives] should do.
Defending Lott or using his remarks as a lightning rod to point out Liberal racism is only giving ground admitting that what Lott did is comparable.
These are mutually exclusive subjects for Conservatives [or they should be]. Liberals will always muddy things up and scream bloody murder.
We dont do that. I will point out Liberal racism everytime I see it. What I wont do is somehow bring it up in the context of defending Trent Lott.

Well I can't disagree .. Lott has been a failure as Majority Leader long before this latest mess and I think he would continue to be a failure in the future even if this did not happen
With that said .. it is not right that the left attacks him on something they THINK he meant to say

If we let them "out" anyone they want, they win! The Democrats didn't have a gun to Vacant's head! He said this! This isn't their fault; it's Lott's. We have to be better than they are and prune our own when they get out of line. This is no time to copy the Dems and drink Koolaid to support wrongdoing (or idiocy).

"Daschle has orchestrated this as an attempt to sway lib Senators to defect. Can you imagine if the GOP replaced Lott with strong conservative leadership? These RINO's will hop over into Daschles sandbox faster than you can say Jim Jeffords"
You think so? If, they did, they would be total idiots after the way the Socialist party was slaughtered in the last election. I don't think so.

I agree. What the left is sowing here...they will reap later [prayerfully at our hands].
But judgement begins at the House of the Lord.
We handle our business and the Left doesnt have these opportunities. Lott opened his mouth and said it...nobody manufactured it. They hyped it...they spinned it...but Lott said it. And if you or I were the Senate Majority Leader in a room full of cameras....we wouldnt have said it.
Whether we agree with it or not.
To me [humbly] that is the bottomline.
:o)

All the more reason why Lott should have been tossed out on his @ss LONG BEFORE this. Waiting until a dopey "leader" makes a stupid remark before sending him out to pasture makes the GOP look worse than Lott, in my opinion.

CLINTON PLAYBOOK #18: Demonize those who disagree with you.
To: Mo1
You know something I see in this...
You [we] are beginning to see a bit of a gap between older Conservatives and younger Conservatives. To me it appears that the younger Conservatives are the more zealous of the lot. More attuned to certain sensitivities [real or manufactured] and more deft at approaching such issues and very discerning of how to "politically" handle them.
What do you think?

>>Stop being a jerk.
Discuss it or break out but dont be an idiot about it.<<
Ignore him.
What he lacks in lightning, he makes up for in thunder.
To: VaBthang4
None of this would be happening if Lott hadnt said what he said. I totally agree with what you're saying. And I blame Lott even more since he is in such a visible position in the GOP. He should know to be tactful. He goofed ... he was wrong and (for the good of the party) he should just GO!!!
To: Peach
>>But aren't you tired of the press and PC people holding us to one standard while allowing the libs to say what they want without criticism?<<
I absolutely am. But that does not mean we need to give Lott a free pass because "Hey look at them." That is not pricipled.
To: SunStar
This has nothing to do with whether or not Rush or Sean are making comparisons between the RATS and Lott.
What is important here is the principle of not allowing anyone to get away with referring to someone as a "racist."
Rush has explained many times in the past that one must instantly respond to that label because once that it is attached to you it is an attempt to destroy your character and cannot and must not be allowed to stand.

Now you be nice.
No...TB has a pure motive but I think to him the ends justify the means. On one hand I can appreciate the thunder and lightning but on the other I know that we need to get rid of this Lott character. He wont have any genitals when it comes to standing up to Liberals slipping things into Civil Rights or welfare, or medical or anything legislation. I think his past already shows a willingness to play the game versus stand his ground.
He is not the definition of a leader. He never was....and this latest nonsense will only serve to cement that reality.
To: SerpentDove
I guess I don't get why my comments are so offensive to you. And I am not saying it is no one else's business. I just think if there was ever a time to seek the cousel of a specific group of people this is the time. No matter how much we all think we know everything I think sometimes you have to just ASK the people most directly affected.
I think it would be respectful of us to give extra weight to the voices of black conservatives on this issue. Since so many people are interpreting his remarks differently black conservatives are in the position to judge the comments from the purest motives. Do you think we SHOULDN'T seek they opinion on this? That's all that I am saying. Get their opinion and give it extra weight.

Sounds very reasonable to me.

And YOU, doofus, linked them to immigration via Bush, which takes some doing. Immigration must truly obsess you.

Haha...I noticed that earlier...
It is funny how a particularly sensitive topic will attract people to interject their personal obsessions into it regardless of the lack of association. I have been waiting for someone to claim that the motive behind sacking Lott is actaully driven by his personal knowledge of the Oklahoma City Bombers true identity or that he knew who shot down TWA flight 800.
I got lambasted last night [on this thread] by some guy who seemd to pontificate that because I think Lott should go...I must hate Asian-Americans.
ROTFLOL
Oi...

And YOU, doofus, linked them to immigration via Bush, which takes some doing.Takes absolutely no effort at all.
It's the exact ploy utilized by the globalist bushbots to sidetrack any serious discussion of the illegal immigration issue.
I take great pleasure in jamming their hypocrisy right back up their clymers.

As much as I like Hannity, maybe its time he has to wipe some egg off his face. He has been on a roll for years where he is never wrong or finds a way to skirt issues. He needs some common sense a$$ whoppin' to get back to the moral reality needed to keep us going against the RATS
To: cinFLA
You can say this after what you saw the press do to Newt and George Bush? If we let them "out" anyone they want, they win! The 'Rats don't want Trent Lott out. They want him censured, and they want to use his dumbass comments against the Republicans from now on. Lott must step aside as Majority Leader... Because he is an embarassment to my party.
