Peterson is absolutely right; many Dems have done far worse, and I suspect are still much more racist that Republicans. The problem is that the media is on the Dem side, and this won't go away.
I don't think Lott should resign as senator - but it's time for somebody new as majority leader.
Isn't this about reducing the number of Republican senators. Two years ago the Republicans got control, and then along came Jeffers to defect.
Now, Republicans are again in control. The Democrats are seizing this oppurtunity to try to remove Lott, then they have, what, 2 to go.
They will attack one by one til they steal control.
