[history]
Mexican ambulance drivers are transporting hospital patients unable to pay for medical care or emergency-room services in their country to facilities in the United States, where their treatment is mandated by federal law, authorities said yesterday.
The border crossings have been reported from Brownsville, Texas, to Douglas, Ariz., and involve Mexican ambulance companies whose drivers have been instructed by hospital officials in Mexico to take ailing and uninsured patients to the United States, the authorities said.

Yeah, but looking at this thread five years later, who'da guessed Bush & Co would fail to get their borderless agenda codified.
They had six+ years and congress with both parties in control at one time or other. It may be a fait accompli for the future, but I'm surprised that Bush will leave the WH without enacting a policy that was obviously his reason for running in the first place.

I’d love to see the reaction at the hospital when my niece arrives to deliver her baby and she explains that she has no job, her husband was murdered, and the state won’t pay any benefits because they were only married one month! I sure wish she’d do it!
Just say, “Sorry, Charlie!” or maybe it should be Jose.

Good grief. I didn’t check the date, and I was sitting here about to pop a blood vessel or something, planning my telephone assault on my senators tomorrow. Are you trying to kill someone? I guess I can calm down a smidgen now. :p

As long as the hospitals are getting paid, there is no incentive to stop the practice. As long as the American voters continue to reward bad behavior and greed in the elected officials, we have no reason to expect better results.

Get the rich fools to pay plus it feels so good to get one over on the Anglos!
Once upon a time Mexicans feared "the Anglo" and the "Anglo" United States
Now they know he is either a liberal or a compassionate conservative. That they can exploit the American sense of fairness
