What does it say about "his own society"-and ours-that the movement to oust him over this remark has went the way it has, versus any attempts-were there any?-to oust him for his handling of the trial of der slickmeister???

There are plenty of problems in our society. FR documents them all the time. And we are all aware of them. As should Lott be aware of them. Seems he's not very aware. He is the leader of a group of 100 people who are near the very top of the world's most powerful government. He's not aware of press coverage? He's not aware of enemies lying in wait all the time. The guy is a moron, a dolt, an imbecile, and a great embarrassment. The fact that he is a Bush-supporter is a big mitigating factor, and the reason I hope and pray he stays in the Senate. But in a leadership role? I don't think so.

It says that the GOP was gutless in confronting Lott's gutlessness. In some ways, we deserve this.
