It doesn't take much to get some people fired up. He never mentioned race or segregation.

Thank you for bringing that up. I thought the same thing, he (Lott) had nothing to apologize for. If people mistake or read more into it as in this case, they're the ones that have a problem. I took it (the statement) as it was intended for a man that gave most of his life to his goals and hopes for feeling he invested his life, not wasted it.

The NAACP was becoming more irrelevant everyday - I really wish Lott hadn't given them an issue. You know they view this as their salvation.

Actually, as I mentioned in another Trent ThurmondGate thread. On the way out this morning I did hear a reporter say, Trent Lott mentioned segregation.

Now I know Lott didn't say it and you know he didn't BUT thats whats being reported. Also, I'm sure black media is reporting it that way as well.

I told you all that this would happen. The only way to fight against PC fascism is to stand up to it. Apologizing for an innocent remark that liberals "interpreted" to be offensive never works. They just up the ante and demand more.

The left smells blood, and they smell it because a lot of conservatives have jumped on their PC bandwagon. They got their apology, now they want another Senate seat by running Lott out of office so the Mississippi governor, a Democrat, can appoint his replacement.

Lott shouldn't have apologized. Now we'll never hear the end of it.
