I wasn't going to bring this up, but you seem like a good person to ask. I've always been offended by the Catholic practice of referring to the Pope as the Holy Father, since God clearly states in Matthew 23:9, "And call no [man] your father upon the earth: for one is your Father, which is in heaven." God is the Holy Father, not the pope.
I have wondered that for years but haven't asked any Catholic that question because I didn't want to question another Christian's beliefs because I believe that the differences between Christians of various religions aren't nearly as important as the one thing that we all have in common, and that is that we love God and have accepted Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior.
