I received the 2002 Whitehouse Christmas card (postmarked Crawford, Tx.) and wanted to share it with any and all.

I saw this card on the HGTV "Christmas at the Whitehouse" special. I thought it was beautiful. The artist is a Chinese man who became a citizen 7 years ago.

Don't forget to mention what a great Christian you are compared to all those "JOKES" who don't agree with you

certainly appears to me that those bellyaching the insufficient religiousity of the President's card (those who have not been personally satisfied as to the depths of his belief), are the ones holding themselves out as better Christians. Judge not.

You've been given many examples. Go back and find them. Or check out www.blessitt.com

Bet you don't, though. Might tear those precious spiritual blinders off your eyes, and then you might have to admit you were wrong.

btw, if you indeed ARE a Christian, what are you going to say to this man when you see him in Heaven?

You'll notice that for Ramadan Bush was very specific and detailed about the fundamentals of Islam. He went so far as talking about the pillars, Allah, etc, etc.

Guess all that language about Christ during his campaign was so much bull....

Sorry, Pappy, clarification needed. YOU are not a joke. What you SAY is a joke.

May the Peace and JOY of Jesus Christ someday find it's way into your heart.

Yep. He has said so on many occasions

So post ONE where he talked of Christmas as the birth of Jesus Christ..not a generic belief in God

you have a litmus test then, to believe that someone is a Christian? is this not akin to what the Pharisees required ?

Read the interior, silly. I've seen most of the White House cards, and "W's" are the first I've seen that use Biblical references. The front picture continues a tradition of using paintings of scenes from the White House that dates from 1967, per HGTV special on White House Christmas decorations last night.

May the JOY of the LORD, that is shared by my brother in Christ, the President of the United States, be some day be YOURS as well.

Was that said by the president or about him?

Here is the President's Radio Address last Christmas:

THE PRESIDENT: Good morning, and merry Christmas. During this time of conflict and challenge, Christmas is a day on which we celebrate hope and joy; when our thoughts turn to justice and compassion, and to a Prince of Peace born long ago.

This is a day on which we give thanks for the wonder of God's love, for the blessings we have received, and for the families we love. And this year all of these things seem particularly important.

Charles Dickens wrote that Christmas is a time when abundance rejoices and want is keenly felt. This Christmas finds many facing hurt and loss, especially the families of terror victims and of our young men killed in battle. America grieves with you, and we hope you'll especially find the comfort and hope of Christmas.

Laura and I send our good wishes to all the families in America that have come together in celebration. We're especially grateful to all the men and women of our military, many of whom are today separated from their loved ones because they're serving our country.

Even in this time of war, we pray for peace on Earth and goodwill toward men, and we continue to ask God's blessings on the United States.

Merry Christmas, and happy New Year.

I do not doubt his pre election faith statments..my question involves having Islamic and Jewish religious services in the White House ..but never hearing any mention of the Christian roots of Christmas or the name of Jesus said by him..(as opposed to a generic "God" statement)

Now I do not have a specific problem with a secular president BUT I do have a problem with the Islamic and Jewish religious services and making Christmas a secular retailers holiday...

Thank you, Miss Marple; I was beginning to think that no one understood the significance and uniqueness of the Presindent's Biblical references.

Err, I'm Catholic, and I think the idea of A Grand Piano on the White House Christmas Card is just fine.

Course, I would approve..Mr. Spectre bought me a lovely Baby Grand Piano for Christmas this year :~)

It won't satisfy you RN. He didn't say Jesus, which is your sole criterion.

Here's what he said last night...."Christmas is the time for rejoicing in the company of those we love. It is also the time for remembering a humble birth, announced by angels that brought hope to a weary world. Our world is very different. Our need for that hope is the same." After that, he and the First Lady sang "Hark the Herald Angels Sing." (Not very PC, I'd say).

The man is a Christian, and he was talking about the LORD'S birth......his SAVIOR. If you can't see it because of your politics, so be it. But don't argue that he's not with those of us who see it clearly in his words and his actions.

Disagree with him on policy all you want, but to deny that his faith is real only reveals who YOU are......not HE.
