I'm not sure how closely you've followed the efforts in Arizona. The Barnett (Bennet?) brothers own a 22,000 acre farm on the border. They have spent $30,000 of their own money to install sensors on their property. In the last two years they have arrested 8,000 illegal immigrants on their property. They carry weapons and have sparked no incidents of violence. They turn the illegals over to the INS, who deport them.

They appeared on the Donahue program a few weeks back. They state that they see the same people over and over.

They were experiencing a high incidence of tresspassing, vandalism, burglery and basic petty criminal activity on their farm.

They estimate that about 200 people per day enter our nation over their property. If they are accurate, that's around 73,000 people per year on their property alone.

Wow, I hope the Barnett brothers are watching their backside. Thwarting half that many 'customers' would be enough to get the attention of the alien smuggling syndicate, I would think.

Still, we're gonna have to win hearts & minds of the folks in the interior if the situation is to ever improve. Thats why its so demoralizing to see people on this forum spouting the same ol' crap about 'jobs Americans won't do', etc. We should ALL know better by now.
