Stephen Martin II is anxiously looking for a job -- he says any job -- to tide him through the holiday season.

Ever since he quit his restaurant job a month ago, the 28-year-old has been sending resumes to numerous local restaurants, department stores and fast-food chains -- with no success.

I've called back so many times," he said. "I hope I get a job soon; I've got to pay my bills."

Should have thought of that before you quit your other job, yo-yo.

My very first thought. What yo-yo quits before having a darn good lead at least.

I am from Indianapolis. A couple things I will add to this for explanation:

The Children's Museum has been overstaffed for a number of years. Because they rely on donations, the new museum head has been trying to get their costs under control for the last year. Seasonal employmemnt is only in the gift shop, where sales are not as high due to lack of competitive pricing. For a number of years the museum has been staffed with dilletantes and non-profit types, who look at employment there as a perpetual entitlement.

Also, retail hires were hurt by the bankruptcy and closing of Jacobson's, a high-end store. Jocobson's building will be filled by Saks Fifth Avenue, which is expanding the size of the facility and is hiring for a targetted opening in March.

I think what he meant was, there wasn't any 30 dollars an hour cooking jobs left, and Burger King and McDonalds wasn't an option for our job quiting friend..

Probably quit without any notice. The # 1 rule before you leave a job is to have another one.

I hire many people and the first question I ask them is "did you gave your last employer any notice you were leaving".

If they will quit on them, they will quit on you.

My first thought too. And he has only been looking for four weeks? Cry me a river. I was out of work for 3 months after my layoff.

All I have to say is the dunderbutt (probably a dimocrat) figured the world was waiting with open arms to embrace his brilliance.

Obviously, the bulb is burnt out.
