Great Report. Reward yourself with a large glass of Cacique, neat.

What a fantastic report!

And HOW!

Although I wish it didn't include deaths -

Me too, but the Tree of Liberty does seem to require occasional watering with the blood of tyrants and patriots...

The Venezuelan people are most definitely our friends, and they face a huge crisis.

So apparently do we if this goes the wrong way.

Do you have any information or news about the American oil execs in Venezuela? We have friends there and are just concerned for their safety.

Great report!

As soon as this thug is gone, we, here in North America, should make an effort to give a helping hand.

This is a vain pursuit. Removal of Chavez will not bring those people into the promised land. The problems are not caused by Chavez and will not go away.

No kidding. As much as we want to see democratic principles spread around the world, this is a country that is critical to our own economy. Our interest is two-fold.

As the economic powerhouse for the entire planet, our economic health has ramifications far beyond our borders. Both democracy and economic stability are at stake here.

Oh. Well. Then let's help keep him in power.

It is all power game. The regular people chase their dreams.

Both democracy and economic stability are at stake here.

Given the military liaisons between Cuba and Chavez, the biological warfare aspects of their mutual exchanges (Cuba possesses very sophisticated recombinant technology), their connections with Khaddafi and Saddam Hussein, and their connections to FARC, and I think our stake in the outcome is considerably higher than mere economic benefit or our altruism toward the prosperity of the Venezuelan people.

Consider how easily one could introduce a bioweapon to the US by contaminating cocaine.

What it required of them at that annointed time was evident in their energy and determination and would have surely made our own founding fathers proud!

Great stuff. Thanks for writing it.

about a third of the original crowd of 2,000 local patriots, both from on stage and in the audience, came back out in the open defiantly resuming their program and loudly proclaiming that they would not be intimidated by Hugo Chavez and his cowardly hired thugs!
Indeed, FREEDOM is not free. Thanks for this stunning eye witness report, Shane. What brave people these are!
Great FReeper BUMP
