Its not like President Bush needs to wait til Saddam takes out NYC before he acts. The time to remove Saddam from power is NOW.

Book on Chinese nuke spying
Prologue:
"Certainly their job became easier as Clinton appointees opened up our nuclear weapons laboratories to scientists from our former Cold War opponents and emphasized "international scientific collaboration," whose major achievement was to expose our scientists to foreign intelligence collectors. As a result, our national nuclear labs were suddenly flooded with visitors from China, Russia, India, even Iran and Iraqmany of them staying on for two years or more."

It was reported in the WSJ a while back that the Saddam has funneled oil for food money to a shipbuilding outfit that specializes in building trawlers. This is how they will get a WMD into America. Russia sails our Puget Sound region with spy trawlers looking for signatures from the Trident Fleet every day. It's a scenario we need to be on top of.

What is it going to take for us to wake up?? For most of the media and the dems it'll take a mushroom cloud over NYC, LA or DC...then they'll all be pointing fingers and screaming about unconnected dots and "Bush Knew" and so on and so on. Fortunately we have a President in office who's not willing to wait that long. He's going to take care of this situation once and for all. The UN and European sentiment be damned.

Its not like President Bush needs to wait til Saddam takes out NYC before he acts. If Bubba were still in office that is what it would take for him "to act".
Same goes for Hillary if she ever becomes president, at which point we will have to pray that she/they are removed from government by military coup, like in the film Seven Days in May.

I'd say that if Saddam actually has nukes that they are probably already here. I wonder how much lead shielding it would take to conceal radiation from weapons grade U235 or plutonium from our satellites that are built to find this kind of material?

As loose as our borders continue to be, Saddam has any number of ways to get a nuke here and get it detonated. We have to assume he will when attacked. But he (or a client terrorist) will eventually, anyway. The question is, will he try to do so on our timetable or his?
The other question is, given the way GWB has squandered his momentum by buying into useless, wishy-washy UN dickering and "inspections", will he then have the b@lls to do what is necessary if we are attacked? Or will he continue to defer to Kofi and his communist and terrorist stooges? I'm not so sure any more.
One thing we could wish for, if he's going to use nukes anyway (and not to wish this on anyone), is that he direct one of them at Israel. That'll be the end of his regime, and probably his country. The Israelis will take care of the problem, once and for all. I'll be rooting them on if they do.

"He's going to use non-persistent chemicals against his own people to put down an insurrection," the ace inspector predicted, before adding chillingly, "He'll use bio and nukes against us." Anyone know if his scuds can reach Quatar(sp) or the area of the Persian Gulf where one of our carrier battle groups are likely to be operating from once the bombing starts?
To: Emile
If Saddam nuke Isreal, the Isrealies are likely to take out Iran and Syria along with Iraq. That whole region could be radioactive for decades.
