I'm surprised at the apparent short memory of the freepers on this thread. Chris said he didn't give her the questions. Doesn't mean his producer or one the the staffers didn't. We gotta parse everything they say.
Also, remember the old Hollywood Squares, the good Hollywood Squares, before Poopi Goldberg got involved? They ran a disclaimer at the end of each broadcast to the effect that the participants weren't given the actual questions ahead of time, but may have been coached as to possible responses without using the actual question. My guess is Hardball discussed the gist of questions without revealing the actual questions asked.
"Cankles" is such a pathetic coward.
Like they say on the cop shows, you can't rely on eye witttnesses.
My rememberance is that there was another show where Hillary insisted on and did receive the questions.
F&F was critical of her gall to request the questions and said the request was not uncommon but refusal was routine.
He sounded somewhat stunned that Sen. Clinton's would presume he would rig the interview and help her cheat.
If I, a housewife far from DC, know this is the way she operates how come Chris Matthews doesn't?
Fine to reveal the asking for questions, but what's with the "surprise" on his part that the asking would take place?
You never went to law school did you?
Chriss gave her the general areas about which he would ask questions and the tenor those questions might take.
That means Chris did not giver her the actual questions. Let me explain it with an example.
If Chris were interviewing Hillary, He might tell her beforehand that he is going to ask a question about her age or questions on that subject.
On the show Chris ask Hillary. "How old are you?"
They can both say, Chris never gave her the question before the show. It is not a lie. But Hillary were not prepared for this question she is pretty dumb.
