Mach 9 is not a problem. . .the rate of acceleration is. That may be what you are referring to. From zero to Mach 9 in an instant and you become jello. Zero to Mach 9 in, say five minutes is tolerable and easy.

9 G's is not bad at all.

For me G's are darned comfortable and feel good.
7G's and up, that is when the HELMET becomes uncomfortable.
No big deal.

Fighter pilots in the F-15/16 hit 9 G's all the time. Heck, it's FUN to pull G's. Not pulling G's drives you nuts, and if I didn't hit at least 5 G's on a sortie, at least once, any type of sortie, I'd feel cheated. 4 G's in the traffic pattern is standard.
I've over-G'd the F-15E a few times, hitting 11 G's once and never really felt all that much different than 9 G's. It was only that pesky "bitching betty" auto-warn system that gave me a clue I was over-G'ing. Bitch.

I see where I screwed up, it was the reference to the 6M speed with 340 m/s equalling 1 M. 6*340 m/s = 2.04 km/sec = 4563 m/hr.

Yeah, i actually knew that the photo of the Aurora refueling (the flying tank-black manta pick) was some hoax that somehow made it into web mythology and got blown out of proportion. That i knew ...however i do think that the US is working on some next-generation plane thingimajig!

I actually envy the folks who will be flying the plane (i am assuming it is manned and not a UCAV, although it could veryw ell be ...although some months ago i managed to 'get into' this closed site where i saw a prototype manned plane, and that was the time i stopped defending Russian Su-30s ...if you recall i used to be quite adamant about Sukhoi efficacy then i suddenly stopped. Well, i saw something that gave me something akin to a wet dream and goosepimples merged into one, and that thing was US. And it made me change my perception of Russian jets, including their stealth berkut and mig-mapo 1.42 forever!)

They told me to say it was fake ...and that the crazy whirling lights i saw last week were nothing but swamp gas reacting with the northern borealis lights, and that the green guys who stuck probes in places i was told in sunday school are nothing more than just due to light getting refracted off the feathers of migrating geese!

The one that I saw coming out of Edwards wasn't any delta shaped aircraft, it almost looked like a dart and that is what was talked about around Burbank airport durring those years and at that time Kelly Johnson and the skunk works was based there.

That's what I believe. I was told (by real insiders) back in the 90's that the Japan Clipper was cancelled "Because it had already been done" and that we had a similar space booster plane that looked much like the B70 (both crashed, we were told).

You don't retire your best stuff like the Blackbird; or reveal the F17 and B2, unless the secrets are piling up deep.
