(IsraelNN.com) The Saudi Police Minster claims that the Jews were behind the 9/11 attack on the World Trade Center. The ministers claims were made in an interview with a Kuwaiti newspaper and reported by ABC News. According to the Minister, the Jews profited from the attack. Everybody knows that the Jews made manipulative use of the events of 9/11, and have turned American public opinion against Muslims and Arabs, he said.
The Saudi ministers remarks were made just as the Saudis were opening a public relations campaign to improve their image in the United States. A Democratic politician from New York, Eliot Angel, responding to the ministers accusations said, The Saudis say they are our allies in the war against terror, while senior officials in their government are accusing the Jews and denying the fact that 15 Saudis participated in the attacks on New York and Washington. Does the Saudi minister sound like an ally in the war against terror?

You know, my first instinct was to ignore this thread. But then I thought, if a Minister of the Saudi government is quoted saying this, that actually is - or should be - news.
I would really like to hear an official reaction to this from the White House. I've had enough of this "Islam is a religion of peace" and "the Saudis are our allies" crap.

just as the Saudis were opening a public relations campaign to improve their image in the United States They might want to rethink this one...

Who's writing this guy's material? Cynthia McKinney?

We are rapidly approaching a permanent break with Arabia.I would love to see that. For a big thing, stop all Saudi foreign funding of hate-filled mosques and their prison outreaches to use violent U.S. criminals. Freedom of religion is great, provided the religion in question isn't actively funding terrorists to undermine the host country. For a big PR thrust, let's see the Saudis allow missionaries of other faiths to enter their country, as they demand the right to send Muslim clerics to Western countries.

Moi aussi. Let them drink their effing oil. I don't know why we're not teaming up with the Mexican government to build a pipeline. That would create jobs there (instead of sending their people here) and make Mexicans rich, not to mention so much less hassle if managed correctly. In the meantime, drill in Anwar AND work on alternate technologies and stay tight with Russia, which has stacks of oil.

THIS is a widely held point of view of many people in that region of the world. Here in Mexico, over a dinner table, I was upbraided by a dear Syrian woman, saying it was all staged by the Jews and George W, so he could have a hey-day and bomb, bomb and more bombs on the Arab kingdoms.
To: Inkie
You too, huh? The Mexican govenrnment nationalized all the oil companies in Mexico in the 1930s. This led to the diminishment of their oil productivity but several El Presidentes and their families have been living off the billions skimmed and put in their Swiss bank accounts ever since. Just look at the history of Pemex in the 20th century, even though the bookkeeping is shadier than Arthur Anderson's.
Of course, by all accounts, bribery is just as important in the former Soviet Union. You can read accounts of American oil workers trying to just do their jobs drilling oil in Kazakhstan or Siberia, for instance. China, with its lacustrine reserviors is even worse. And Venezuela is a wonderful place for American oil workers to get kidnapped by local gangs for ransom. In short, there's not an easy answer. Try and drill ANWAR, and the California coast has lots of resevoirs remaining.
But don't trust the Russians or the Mexicans to act any better than the Saudis, everybody's out for their own agendas.

A broken record since at least 1963 (remember records?)
...
The United Nations was also an important target for NSA. In a message transmitted back to the Middle East, a delegation of Palestinians blamed the assassination on a Jewish plot: Behind the mysterious crime is a carefully plotted Zionist conspiracy. The late President was likely to win the coming presidency elections without supplicating the Zionist sympathy or seeking the Jews [sic] vote. Aware of the fact that their influence and power in the United States are based upon the Jews vote, the Zionists murdered the courageous President who was about to destroy that legend of theirs. His assassination is a warning to the rest of the honorable leaders. Reveal their conspiracy to the supreme judgement of the world. Be careful, you are the hope of the Palestinians. Likewise, the Italian ambassador to Syria cabled Rome saying that the government in Damascus saw Zionism behind the murder.

Let's face it. We can't trust anyone in the entire world, so we should exploit every avenue of energy supply we can in our own land (if the greens will get real). Mexico is a time bomb, with its president demanding we encourage and support the illegals coming from his corrupt country. He is a snake in the grass and has yet to express support for us since 9/11. Just as a point of realism, we should realize that every country will act in its own interests, not ours -- therefore, it is time we stopped apologizing for doing the same. Welcome to the real world, lefties who think that Europe and other countries have some high-falutin reason for taking the positions they do.

the last thing the house of Saud wants is for Bush to topple Saddam. After that, we've got access to the 2nd-largest oil reserves in the world, and we're no longer reliant on the Saudi oil (the 1st-largest reserves). Then we can do whatever we want to the Saudis.

the last thing the house of Saud wants is for Bush to topple Saddam. It is so typically Middle-Eastern. The Saudis were scared to pieces over Islamic (in name only) brother Saddam only 12 short years ago. The Iraqis smashed into Kuwait and Saudi Arabia was next on the chopping block. The Saudis couldn't love Americans enough, so long as our soldiers didn't openly wear crosses and the women soldiers covered up. The Kuwaitis really loved us when they were liberated from their fellow Islamic oppresors by Christians. Now the Kuwati Imams are some of the biggest critics of America. Go figure, it's a bowl of scorpions.
