Thanks for the interesting tidbit on Auberon Waugh. When did he use the term and in what context?

He had a column in the British satirical magazine "Private Eye' titled 'Auberon Waugh's diary'. It was usually very funny. He used the term in reference to those who are not only homosexual but 'in your face' and political about it. I tried a google search using 'Auberon Waugh homosexualist' but came up with no hits. That particular sequence of words may well have him spinning in his grave, though.
