Calling Islam a great religion, Rice said people should not be treated unfairly because of their skin color, ethnic background or religious faith.

Seems pretty clear to me. And I don't think the colors they come in have a dumdiddly thing to do with it.

A whelcher is one who makes a wager, then fails to perform on it.

You are a whelcher.

I might be welsher but I am NOT a whelcher (sic).

You made a bet, you lost, and you failed to perform.

Listen - don't get so angry because I disagree with you.

Suppose EVERYONE agreed with you, and then you changed your mind, then everyone would disgree with you.

At least with me you know that if you ever changed your mind, you would be in agreement with at least one person - me.

I'm hardly "angry", but the fact remains, you made a bet and failed to perform.

Be-gone.

Actually it was Glinton/;Gore that was asleep at the switch from 93-01, in dealing with Khobar towers, The Cole bonbing, the first WTC attack, the bombings in Kenya and probably Flight 800 ( may have been a successful verision oif the attempted missle attack in Kenya last week.

Besides the Clinton team that was out of office almost 9 months, who do you blame?

I think al qaeda, bin laden, and the nations/organizations that fund them are to blame. I don't think any agency or individual in the U.S. is responsible for "allowing" it to happen unless you are talking about the regulations put in place years ago preventing our intelligence-gathering agencies from effective communicating and cooperating with each other, or the political correctness which prevented agents from investigating leads pointing to arab terrorists for fear of "ethnic profiling" accusations.

Other than that, perhaps officials at top levels in the previous administration who refused a Sudanese offer to deliver bin laden to us a couple of years earlier. Condi had nothing to do with ANY of these items.

Wasn't Rice the one who was "sleeping at the switch" and allowed 9/11 to occur?

Yes, of course she was "sleeping at the switch", along with the rest of us.

I'm NOT denying that.

But there was a NEW team in town in January 2001.

Yes - among other failures.

or the political correctness which prevented agents from investigating leads pointing to arab terrorists for fear of "ethnic profiling" accusations.

Yes

And the laws that allowed for terrorists to easily come to America.

And not taking threats seriously, and mandating that the CIA, FBI etc. concentrate on terrorism.

And not being proactive enough in going after terroist organizations.

Rice's job was to be alert "at the switch".

It was not our job to be at the "switch".

We live in a republic, not a democracy---thank God.
Democracy sucks...it's nothing more nor less than mob rule

As a smoker, I think you are living in the past. Other than that, I agree with you :)

Calling Islam a great religion, Rice said...

"Great"??

Is there NO end to the political pandering to adherents of the "Religion of Peace" from some members of this administration?? And all it took was 17 Muslim hijackers, and a paper-trail of fund-raising throughout American Mosques in support of Al Quaeda.

Oh that's right, I forget -- naturally, the GOP's 'big tent' must reach out to everybody...

Wow, she single handedly protects us from terrorists ? She is certainly doing a great job since then. She conquered Afghanisitan and arrested numerous terrorists. Is she really Wonder Woman ?

PS. You really do have a significant problem in making causal relationships.

HERE IS WHAT WINSTON CHURCHILL THINKS ABOUR MUSLIM WOMEN

Even Pathan women came in for a journalistic beating from the future Prime Minister. 'Their wives,' he wrote, 'have no position but that of animals. They are too filthy to handle and too noisome to approach.' He called the local Pathan patriots who had risen in defence of, what he called, 'their pestilential land', 'ignorant, depraved, squalid, athletic savages'. He wrote that 'extermination of the inhabitants' of the Frontier was necessary because of the 'perpetual inheritance of our race'."

I'm amazed at the ignorance of some responses on this thread.

If people think we can not AFFORD to support those people who want "change" from the Wahabbi type of Islam, then I suggest they study what is happening a tad more.

The women who are speaking out, who are stating that there is a true Islam vs the radical Islam are extremely brave. They could lose their lives for their stand.

Dr. Rice is no dummy.. she is brilliant!!

You bet your sweet bippy we'd vote for her for VP, but that job won't be open until VP Cheney is done in 2008,.. then we prefer President Rice!!
