This is a serious story, but of all the persons to have as a witness, we have Ed?

At the very least the South Dakota Attorney General should conduct a full investigation into the matter and the U.S Senate should refuse to seat Tim Johnson til they have been resolved. If he was elected as a result of fraud, he clearly shouldn't be sworn in as the state's Senator. Its important to uphold the integrity of our election process. So we waste a little time; if it turns out they're wrong, Johnson comes away with a cloud of suspicion lifted from his head. Its in the interests of both candidates to ensure the election turned out clean. The voters of South Dakota deserve no less.

I suspect this postal worker may have been seen running around the reservations:

If this RAT hole gets plugged before the 2004 elections, it may spell the end for Tommy Daschle

re:
"..He said money was not an object, that they had unlimited funds."..."

You can thank Mr. McCain and the "Campaign Funding Reform" for
this new debacle. "Soft money" is legal and can be used in exactly the
manner it has here....... AND in Florida.

It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out something stinks on the Reservations. First they have Dimocratic operatives registering the dead. Then they give the Native Americans free coats, get the Tribal elections to coincidentally coincde with the Senate elections, throw picnics for the Native Americans, and allow any Tom, Dick, and Harry to vote early, often, and fraudulently as someone else. And paying for votes... sounds like Milwaukee with giving the homeless cigarettes.

Then Shannon County reports last, after they know exactly how many votes they need to put Johnson over the top. It seems like a page taken out of the typical Demonrat theft guide... a page out of the JFK/LBJ book. It's a shame.

Unfortunately, they will probably not prove enough fraud to affect the outcome of the election.

It's funny how the Dims talk out of whatever side of the mouth is convenient. Remember Gore wanted every vote counted? Now, to gain control of the Maine State House, they are disenfranchising votes not recorded in pencil.

The 1960 Presidental election, Louisiana Senate (part one), 2002 South Dakota Senate, Maine, when is it going to end? When will these Rats finally get caught for their fraud? And will anyone care?

Good job Mr. Olmsted. I hae a question for you though. Did you get the impression as a result of your legwork that the Republicans are planning on following through with complaints to the new Secretary of State, or are they just planning on using this for political propaganda purposes?

"You know what the going rate was around here? Ten bucks,"...

Hmmmm. All Daschle needs in '04 to get re-elected is a couple grand.

If the GOP/RNC is reluctant to fully investigate the SD voter fraud situation - we need to start applying pressure to change their minds. As a start, I sent this article to: White House, RNC, Senators Lott, Frist, Nickles with a "demand" to fully investigate situation BEFORE swearing in Johnson for Senate seat. Come on freepers, we can and must push this issue.

This is very similar to the Missouri 2000 situation. In response, 400 federal agents were sent to monitor the 2002 elections. Voters were also given the option of casting a provisional ballot, which would be counted later after registration, etc., could be confirmed. Needless to say, Mrs. Carnahan did not get that lats minute bounce from the city vote she was counting on and only 600 provisional, probably all legit, votes were cast statewide. The knowledge that they were being watched and could possibly be researched and prosecuted kept the vote frauders and "dead" away from the polls.

Betcha this is what happens to SD in 2004--and notice that Dasshole is now talking about retirement because he knows what a honest election would mean to his electoral success. (Hint--he won his first election by 100-something votes which showed up at the last minute.)

I didn't get a sense of what Republicans might be planning. But they did make it clear to us that Thune conceding does not mean the end of the matter, which is the first time I've heard that. We are continuing to pursue the story aggressively and we will see what the response is....Best, Dan
