A day in the life of President Bush (photos): 12/4/02

Another busy day for President Bush today as he signed a few new bills and hosted the lighting of the White House Menorah. The President signed the 'Anton's Law' which requires shoulder belts in addition to lap straps in the middle rear seats of vehicles. Bush also signed the Dot Kids Implementation and Efficiency Act, which creates a new kids-safe 'dot-kids' domain on the Internet that would contain only material appropriate for children under 13. After signing the bill, he took questions from the media, and once again stated that he is not optimistic regarding the inspections in Iraq. Meanwhile, First Lady Laura hosted Afghani teachers as they learn to become master teachers, who will eventually be responsible for training teachers back in their home country. Enjoy your daily dose of Dubya!

Yeah, they're nasty alright. But they reveal volumes about themselves and their empty souls when they bash this President.

I guess that is it .. I don't know .. and like I said .. they don't have to like him but I really have never understood the nastiness towards this President .. and the only folks I have ever heard that nasty were the ones from the DU ..

I have to tell you that one of the reasons I'm able to believe this so fervently, is the Dose. Don't you just feel like you really know him? We've seen him deep in prayer, anguished with grief, tender with Laura, laughing with little baseball players. We have watched our W every single day since the Inauguration, thanks to Rintense. We know what he does, who he sees, who he calls, how he interacts with the American people. We read his speeches, we comment on them, we debate them.

I haven't ever cared so much about a President as I do about our W. I just pray all the time that God will continue to bless him, with all that he needs to lead this nation.

Wow, this is a beautiful post, baseballmom! Thank you!!

You know, when I saw the President in October, I half expected him to say, 'Well, HI there, ohioWfan! Good to see you again!'

I mean, I really feel like I know him because of this wonderful experience we have every night on the Dose! And I too, care deeply about him and Laura as well. We are SO blessed, are we not??

I have come to the conclusion that if the President breathed wrong .. they would jump all over him about that too ..

I believe that every word you said was worth repeating at least once.

I feel so connected to our President and First Lady. They can relate to us as real people because they are real people. They are compassionate people with real feelings who actually understand what we as Americans are going through. They are able to show their emotions and not be ashamed by that. The Bushes aren't about show. They are about being themselves. I feel like I actually know them, and that I have been best friends with them for years. That is what makes this couple so respected and reveered.

It says a lot about the type of people the Bushes are if we are able to feel so connected with them when we (most of us) haven't even met them. God bless them both.

1994 was the worst winter we have ever seen here in Maryland, We had 4 feet of snow on the ground after 3 storms in 2 weeks. Most of the roads were impassable and it was the only time I ever missed work over the weather. We had 10 foot snow drifts on our deck and we could not see out of any of the windows on the south side of our house. We were then told a heavy rain was coming and I had to buy a snow blower to keep the deck from being ripped off the side of the house because of the weight of the rain and snow on the deck. I built our deck myself and it's huge (almost 1,000 square feet) So I was in a panic. I spent 13 hours blowing the snow off our deck only to see the rain that was predicted deliver another 13 inches of snow. :-)

George W. Bush is more as a man and a President as I could have ever hoped or prayed or dreamed our nation would ever see.

WOW! Great minds absolutely think alike!

I don't have to wish that the Bushes were my next door neighbor because it already seems like they are. Although it would be cool to actually live next door to them.

Even if he wears 'baby poop' ties instead of beautiful hand-picked mauve ones? :o)

Just kidding! You know I agree. Not in my wildest dreams did I think he would be the kind of answer to prayer that he has been.........guess that says something about my lack of faith, huh?

Time will tell on the economy. I will not push my case further here -- that would serve no good purpose.

You know what .. the economy in this Country has survived bigger hits then what we are seeing today ..

We all survived then .. we will do so again

1598 Pennsylvania Avenue??

Is there a house there that we could move into......or should we wait and move to Crawford in 2008?

No.......I don't even want to think about this Era of GREAT Blessing coming to an end!

After seeing what the Toon did to our country for 8 years, it's no wonder we had no faith---but in our country, not in God. I felt like "god will never bless us because our country has gone to hell!"

That wasn't true----it's just that all the good people in the country were so turned off of politics that they didn't even vote. See what a good leader can do?? inspire (just like what W said in the Russ Lee song....) He inspired the good americans to VOTE this year! And look what happened! They came out in droves. I really do think that people were showing support for W even more than for their own candidates.

Why not both?! They go home to Crawford on Holidays and occasional weekends. How about a nice little cabin next to Camp David as well?

Just pretend that time slows down while Dubya is in office.

Absolutely! November 5th was a vote for George W. Bush.

He was right when he said that there were good candidates, but the REAL vote was for him, and for his strong leadership.......and I'm glad that he gloated just a little bit yesterday! :o)

I disagree, Although I have never met you, It wasn't a lack of faith, it was cautious optimism. IMHO George W. Bush had a sense of where we needed to go and with the prayers of great American families like yours the good Lord gave him the strength he needed to lead this great nation in the right direction.

OWF... I have tremndous respect for people like you! Here you are with a Son serving this nation and will likely be in harms way and you are one of the most positive people here on Free Republic. I salute you, your husband, your children and especially Eric.

God Bless you and your family. This country will always be strong with families like yours living in it.

Mike
