While I disagree with requiring students recite the pledge(I have difficulty with forced oaths), this guy is on such thin ice I can't believe he is even allowed to press the case forward.

No body is forcing anyone to anything......
One can always...keep their mouths shut......

Her dad is denying everyone else...their rights.

This is one of those cases where you feel good and bad at the same time.

It is nice to see that they have said that a divorced father can still be involved in making decisions involving his children.

On the other hand the it is sad to see what he considers objectionable.

There simply isn't enough vigorous resistance to the relentless attack on American ideals. Americans are truly far too tolerant of ideas that are subversive of fundamental beliefs that have made America great. We have come to a time in our Country, when if we don't stand-up for the unique achievements we have produced; we'll be soon be overrun by some uncivilized, merciless horde, who'll make us rue the day we didn't hold our mud!

I have difficulty with forced oaths

I'm with you. When I first heard about the ruling, I didn't agree with it, but understood it. The guy is an athiest and he wants to raise his daughter as an athiest, but the State was interfering because it mandated that his daughter pledge to the flag... under God. But, later, when it came out that he didn't have custody, I thought he was full of it. Since he ISN'T raising his daughter, I won't cut him the slack I did earlier.

Oh please you people with your forced oaths BS.. If you can't Pledge Allegiance to the country which has birthed you in freedom then either your head ain't on right or the only principle you stand on is the principle of no principles. If they weren't those of us who hold some allegiance to America then there wouldn't have been, nor would there be, anyone to protect your freedom. Furthermore we are talking about helping build good citizens who love their country. That forced oaths crutch is weak as all get out when talking about children and the Pledge. Children must be lead and taught. Adult weakness in dealings with children is bad for society.
