I showed up with my wife and 5 kids on several occasions to support the plaintiffs and unmask then-candidate Granholm for the pro-abort she is.

So you're saying someone is more likely to be 'pro-choice' because of these banners/protests?

Are you insane?

I can't say I'm particularly militant either way but, Christ, you are delusional if you believe that these do anything but make some people that are likely to abort a baby less likely.

Sure, it's unpleasant to look at, but if you're shallow enough to swallow your convictions over abortion based on some protesters in-your-face style, you are beneath contempt.

Of course the flip side is that you're really very heavily pro-choice and are just trolling...but, nah, that couldn't possibly be the case, could it?

Palpy, you are a laugh riot. A laugh riot. SOOOOO predictable. The whole nation could end up 98% pro-life and you would still be whining the same sour note.

I have often thought that if the American people were to view what abortions were really like, there would be no more abortion. The media successfully caused the abortion laws to be placed on the books in every state in the 1800's. Too bad they don't have the same moral fiber they once had.

This is good news however I feel that showing pictures of abortions is gross and classless.
A pro-life group displayed these hideous photos at this years Woodward Dream Cruise, I thought it was tasteless and had no lace at a car show.

If someone gets in the way of your worship of God, that means they are closer to God than you are.

With each act like this, they distance more and more people from their cause.

You do live in a fantasy world. Oh, that's right you are Chancellor Palpatine. You and partial-birth abortion Bill Klintoon are birds of a feather in this rooster fight.

Good. Get those signs out there. People forget that these are human beings being killed. Unless they understand the horror their committing, they'll continue to do it.
With these signs front and center, a woman will remember the dismembered baby she saw on the street sign, and KNOW that's exacyly what she's doing to her child as she thinks about aborting it. It could stop so many from actually doing it.
God bless these fine people for getting out there. God speed to them.

Hey, you wanna stomp all over women like the RC sycophant you are, be my guest, so long as she is willing to put up with it. You want to drag your kids to those things, knock yourself out.

But to insist that other people and their children have to put up with your crap and your definitions? No way.

Precisely. Bold aggressive imagery does not cause people to support abortion - it merely causes them to simply vent about the gross pictures ruining a pleasant day. It does cause some people, however, to wake up to the reality of what abortion is (since Planned Parenthood, NOW and the media love to cover how bloody, unhealthy, and profit-driven the abortion-industry is).

I am not afraid to suffer the venting of people whose peace is disrupted knowing that at least some people will discover the truth.

The Constitution protects our right to be bold. SO the venting folks will have to endure the gross but accurate imagery. Meanwhile many people discover the truth!

The Thomas More Center is a frequent recipient of our monetary donations.

Money very well spent, IMHO.

My kids were glad to stand up for the slaughtered babies. They had a choice and they chose to attend.

We did not go every time we could have because we actually are not the sycophants you pretend we are. We understand that kids need to be exposed to the truth without being overwhlemed by it. But, alas, it is easier for you to pretend we are all idiots.

As to stomping on women, most of the people demonstrating were women -
- and half of the aborted/murdered babies are girls!

The last time a pro-life group came to the campus of the university I attend, they had those huge signs. The only thing that made me question them though was this: They were telling people that ectopic pregnancies pose NO THREAT whatsoever to a woman, and even if they do, the life of the unborn must be respected over the life of the mother. Sorry, mom's life is in danger, that's where I draw the line.

My mother, bless her heart, voted the wrong way until I got her to connect with folks who told her and showed her what others would not. What is the complaint here? Time magazine just recently published fetal images and abortion is a legal practice everywhere.

Some of the plaintiffs also showed up at the dream cruise. In 2001 one of the demonstrators had his motorhome impounded until the cruise was over to prevent him from displaying the photos. This year he also recieved a federal injunction protecting him from the stalinesque police during the 2002 cruise. Same lawyers. Same victory. Same truth got out to the audience. No one embraced abortion because fo these signs.(Logically, people do not embrace the thing pictured in a photo THEY FIND REPULSIVE.) Yet I am confident that at least one person will no longer support abortion because of seeing the photos.

determined to wreck someone else's worship experience?

Which has priority, the "experience," or the God being worshipped? Catholics are by definition pro-life. It's part of the total package. Folks who profane their profession of faith by slaughtering those tiny icons of deity -- either in person, or by proxy -- need to be confronted with what they are standing for. This demonstration did not happen in front of some generic church, but in front of the hypocrite's church. Shame is a very useful enforcement mechanism, and we need to use it from time to time when those who claim to be of us are actually stabbing us in the back.

But, this is a God thing, and you may have trouble understanding anything more important than "feelings," or worship "experience."

He's correct.  It drives away moderates who tend to agree with the message because it lacks any sense of civility.  Personally, I wouldn't support, in anyway, the group that sponsors those banners anymore than I'd support the anti-smoking campaign that has the TV commercial where a human lung is cut open or the PETA billboards of slaughter houses.

The best pro-life billboard I've seen is one in Seattle, by a church, that has a picture of a 1 year old boy with the caption "My grandma says I have my daddy's eyes"

That billboard is far more effective than the attempts to gross people out.

(And don't go off about "But abortion isn't civil, blah blah blah" because that's a secundum quid.)

I agree with you, Bella. Good on ya for speaking out. This is all about life support, and the life of the mother is to be respected and supported if endangered by ectopic pregnancy, which is a horrifically painful way to die, usually, based on medical evidence.

It would appear that CP is concerned for the children who might see the images and then ask questions, while PC has forgotten the children dismembered in abortuaries who will never see even a glimmer of a sunset or hear the faintest of bird song. But then, CP won't have to explain anything to those children ... while here on this plane.
