In it, he quotes extensively from the Koran and rebuts the president's contention that this "great religion" is mostly peaceful: " . the real nature of Islam is a religion of war and conquest. Those who argue that the threat comes only from'Islamic fundamentalism' or'Islamic extremism' misportray the nature of Islam itself. War against the unbeliever is as central a doctrine and practice of Islam as the Virgin Birth, the Trinity and Christ's Resurrection are central to Christianity. Islam cannot abandon jihad and remain Islam. The word'Islam' does not mean'peace,' it means'submission.' "

Weyrich also notes that more Christians are being martyred today than at the height of the Roman persecutions, and "most of them are dying at the hands of Islam."

One can sympathize with the dilemma faced by President Bush. He needs some cover in the Muslim world in order to prosecute the war on terrorism. But he also needs to forearm Americans by warning them about the intentions of our enemies.

There is a way of doing this without getting into a theological argument similar to the unanswerable question about the number of angels that can dance on the head of a pin. The theological battle must be taken to the Muslim world.

The president should consider calling for "moderate" Muslims to clean up their own house. Such demands are being made by Roman Catholic laity on their hierarchy in the wake of priests alleged to have sexually abused children. The president should ask Muslim political and theological leaders to go after their own, if they are, indeed, misrepresenting "true" Islam. We should not have to clean up after the mess they have made.

He is. He's letting all those around him do it for him. Those who have ears will hear.
That way, his plate as leader of the United States is clear and safer from his enemies. Bush remains squeekie clean to the quiet Muslim world, but Americans are still getting the message loud and clear.

Radical, religious zealots in ANY religion are the danger.

Those who practice any religion in non-peaceful ways are enemies of our Constitution, Rule of Law, and to our God-given freedoms.

Radical, zealot Marxist/Leftist/Liberals that have been practicing their religion in non-peaceful ways by imposing their beliefs on the rest of us for over 60 years fall into that catagory.

There are even radical, zealots that claim to be "Christians" who are champing at the bit for the opportunity to obtain power and control at the Federal level so as to impose their version of "Gawd's government" on the rest of us, too ... whether we like it or not.

I thank God for inspiring our Framers to put the Constitution between them and me.

Oddly enough, Bush is in somewhat the same position as certain political leaders in the Muslim world. He too is finding it awkward to deal with crackpot religious leaders. America's religious fundamentalists are Bush's core political constituency. He relied on them in South Carolina, for instance, to defeat Sen. John McCain in the Republican presidential primary.

And here is the point isn't it..the nutty religious right gives them elections..but like the crazy aunt in the attic they only want us in public at election time..Other than that those that call the name of Christ need to whisper and not embarress them..mark these times well the constitution is being shredded before our eyes, and the idea of a Juedo/Christian culture is going the way of a horse and buggy
