No, Helen Thomas does NOT pen her screeds for UPI. She quit UPI several years ago when they were bought out. She now comes out from under the bridge where she lives to "write" (I use that word loosely) for the Hearst Corporation.

Trying to be fair to Heast, I assume they hired her because as long as she can croak and waddle, she retains her status as "Dean of the White House Press Corps" and always gets to ask questions, lame as they may be. But don't tag me as any sort of associate of that troll. Think of me as UPI's substitute for Helen Thomas. Is that better?

I like you assessment of protesters, the local media only pays attention to protests that involve criminal activity. We had a local protest a while ago that involved marching onto the Freeway at rush hour in order to maximize the negative impact on thousands of commuters. Even the wannabe conservative, local talk show host was quick to invite the lawbreakers into the studio and give them a platform after that stunt. The talk-show jerk couldn’t understand why I objected to rewarding the criminal blockage of rush hour traffic, I guess that is what happens when you talk during rush hour and so have no clue about the hassles of a traffic jam. The way to eliminate such activity is for the police to actually charge someone for the crime instead of simply stopping the freeway while ignoring the lawbreaking and for local talk show jerks and the rest of the media to ignore the protesters.
