Anyone who says that Christianity is guilty of crimes like the Spanish Inquisition needs to be reminded of something fundamental: yes, there was an Inquiaition, and it behaved brutally. But Christianity has grown up since then, to the point where such a thing is inconceivable now. Islam, on the other hand has not grown up since then - it is as violent as when Mohammed called his followers to create an empire and put Byzantine soldiers to the sword. And this brutality has only been made worse by modern technology.

If I may add one important point by asking a question...Who ruled most of Spain from the 8th century and were not expelled until 1492, and thus became the 'cultural fathers' to much of the method and techniques used during the Spanish Inquisition?

Answer: Islamic Moors

....perhaps the Spanish pupils learned too much from their Islamic masters/teachers who occupied Spain for over half a millenium...the Spanish Inquisition was just a bastard child of Islamic occupation and history.

If anything even remotely resembling a concerted effort to do violence to nations or peoples in the name of Christ were attempted there would be loud and concerted condemnation from Christian leaders and "clerics" all over the world, and the perpetrators would be identified and isolated. There has essentially NO outcry from the tens of thousands of Muslim clerics.
