I don't know enough about the case to really give my honest opinion about it ..

But if he did start the fire .. that's not a good thing I'm guessing

It is a crime if you plan ahead of time to cause a life threatening situation (which he had to know he was doing if he was going to be a savior) and then death results.

Riddle me this Rotney, if you are so comfortable with the procedure, why doesn't the wealthiest city nation in europe have a reel to reel machine to take his statement? If Safra was one of the wealthiest men in the world, and if this wasn't one of MCO's most impt cases, don't you think a competent police dept would have secured a recorded confession while in their custody? "Mon Dieu, Pierre, we must record his statement!" "Don't bother, its not necessary, no big deal, I'll just jot down some notes/"

Someone help me here. I really haven't followed this matter closely - but I have seen many folks claim his confession was coerced - but here he is admitting he set the fire. How are those two contradictions reconciled? This is not meant as flame bait, I'm genuinely puzzled here.

OK, thank you. It is about time somebody posted something real. You have to admit, when guys like BKauthor claim to know all sorts of stuff, but don't provide it, it is very natural for the BS flag to go up.

Um, you do realize that the confession could have been transcribed by a French court reporter FOR the French legal system and then signed by Maher, right? He doesn't have to write in French.

I haven't heard him yet explain how her body got fished back out of the Atlantic and put in the park.

Dunne unquestionably suffered personal tragedy with the murder of his own daughter, but he's become a society whore. The bulk of Dunne's articles, whether they be about Skakel/Moxley, Maher/Safra, or some other high society crime, are filled with the names of all the "important" people he lunched with or whose parties he attended. Almost every piece of actual information comes from sources with no names at all, so there's no way to verify its truth.

Uh, you haven't explained the rest of the question--he hasn't said it to the press while being taken in and out of the courthouse?

He has, randomly, been allowed to communicate with his family, I believe; I have not been reading the thread I posted on a daily basis; I have read and communicated with posts made by his family members, including his wife, on the link I provided. My memory is not as current of the situation as Phil Dragoo or Fred Mertz, to whom I refer for specific answers to specific questions. The rest can be found on the thread; as I mentioned, family members have actually posted or sent email to be posted (also, a U.S. or State representative got involved in this case, and she wrote to Colin Powell and others, but got nowhere).

wait, wait, wait: are you suggesting the procedure when obtaining a confession is to send a court reporter in with no voice recording device? Have you not been to a deposition in last 15 years?
