The BSA itself says that it's stand against homosexual leaders is because they believe that homosexuality provides an unfit moral example, and specifically not because they think that homosexuals are more likely to be child molesters. See
this page from the BSA's own web site, where you see this quote:
FICTION
The Boy Scouts of America has chosen to exclude avowed homosexuals from the ranks of its members and leaders because of a fear of pedophilia.
FACT
The BSA does not equate homosexuality and pedophilia, but neither avowed homosexuals nor pedophiles are appropriate role models for Scouting youth.

This is a right of association issue. If someone wants to have a different set of standards and pray to Murray or the 7th god from alpha centari and propote communal living -- LET EM! They can start their own danged group
But don't force these down the throat of one of the finest institutions in the USA.
God, this is like Augusta.
Liberals hate for anyone to do what they individually want to do unless it is on the liberal PC list!
As an aside, I had a Buick Wildcat with a 492" engine that would be a great block for that merit badge!

I know of a council in NJ which is doing just the opposite, they just submitted a new policy which has a NON-descrimination clause for "sexual orientation". Seems the scouting executive can not properly fundraise since the Dale Case. Which means they WILL allow homosexuals.
It's a shame they are lowering their standards and in giving in to the liberals. I think the problem with fundraising stems from mismanagement rather than the Dale case.
