Doctor Clinton has now decided THAT THIS IS THE RIGHT TIME to lecturing America on her responsibility to care for the world’s aids patients! (For the love of GOD!)

A few points: The Average amount of monies spent on EACH American aids patient, before he or she dies is $250,000.00 dollars That is more than the Nation of Mexico can afford to pay to spend to provide childhood immunizations for EVERY SINGLE CHILD in their state of Sonora.

When the Zimbabwe government tested her solders for HIV, over 50% were found to be infected. While Aids is devastating, the number of Africans who die each year from malaria dwarf her Aids death rates.

Doctor Clinton’s recommendation that America marshal her energies today to care for more of the Aids patients in the worlds 200 other nations is particularly untimely! One of the things that he ignores is that the world may very soon be facing a world wide pandemic of Smallpox.

Smallpox is one of the most hideous illness that ever plagued mankind. It is a disease which puts virtually every human on the planet at the risk of dying from unless prompt proper action is taken.(Although the death rates of 90%, that some native American tribes suffered should never be approached thank's to the improvement of survival that should be provided by antibiotics surpression of secondary illnesses, although they don't directly act on the virus)

The potential risks of a world wide Small Pox pandemic (in a non immunized world) dwarfs the potential risks of almost all other communicable disease combined.

THE ONLY NATION IN THE WORLD WITH THE TECHNOLOGY AND THE EXPERTISE TO FIGHT A WORLD SMALLPOX PANDEMIC IS THE UNITED STATES.

While Doctor Clinton was on his Rwanda tour, the United States has been on a crash mass production program simply to be able to produce enough Smallpox vaccine to immunize and protect her own citizens, and the citizens of SOME of her allies.

Maligning our nation today for not spending the funds to fight aids, when our nation has just dedicated 200 billion dollars to fight the World War on terrorism is also untimely. No matter how much it might increase Doctor Clinton’s future probability of obtaining a Nobel Prize.(A few more years of the “Doctor’s” maligning America to the rest of the World should also increase his chances)

And for him to imply that funds spent on Aids prevention are not productive, is almost as naive as it is STUPID!

After Dr Clinton has globetrotted the world for years maligning America as being a primary cause of the world’s problems, to now lay another guilt trip on America for not increasing her support for aids care is insulting.

Especially after America has led the world in humanitarian aid for years . Doctor Clinton has been disbarred from the practice of law because of his ethical and criminal activities. It might just be in the world’s interest if he was disbarred from the practice of medicine as well.

Sincerely,

Pliny the younger M.D.

I think Sh#%head Clinton ought to donate the $10M proceeds from that still-imaginary "book" of his - just to get the charity ball rolling.

C'mon Sh#%head, you can do it!

Speaking of that stupid book, anyone want to start laying down bets whether it'll hit the remainder bin quicker than Algore's tome?

After Jimmy Carter betrayed America he turned to Habitat for Humanity in an effort to redeem himself; apparently Clinton, in wishing to redeem himself, has taken up the fight for AIDS victims.

Clinton had a full 8 years in office, two of those years with full Democratic Party control of both the House and Senate, to accomplish whatever it was that he thought was so important.

Now he's upset that Bush hasn't cured AIDS in the 22 months that he's been in office.

Typical. Blame the adults for all of the child's play...

nurse clinton fails to mention that Aids in Africa, at least, is not diagnosed with medical blood tests, but is instead diagnosed by symptoms. Pneumonia-like, cancer-like symptoms are called "aids." In fact, if one takes any of the illnesses that result from an Aids weakened immune system, then the presence of any of those symptoms can be called "aids" in Africa.

It would be like labeling all Ohio pneumonia cases this winter as new incidences of aids. Someone just might question that logic.

If we focus on treatment in addition to prevention, several good things would result.

More people will stop suffering in silence and be willing to get tested for H.I.V. if we offer treatment that will prolong their lives and spare the lives of others. People who have the disease will live longer, healthier lives.

So, the point is to ensure, "people who have the disease will live longer," so they have more opportunity to spread the disease, giving government more excuses to control its citizen's money. I must honestly admit, this argument does not appeal to me. I'm not perticularly eager to see the kind of people whose practices spread this disease live longer. Sorry!

"But what they will find not so civilized is our failure to treat 95 percent of people with the disease. Given that medicine can turn AIDS from a death sentence into a chronic illness and reduce mother-to-child transmission, our withholding of treatment will appear to future historians as medieval, like bloodletting."

Why is it that Liberals think that it is the responsibility of the United States to fix all of the world's problems? Do Liberals really believe that there is an endless supply of money here in the U.S. that should go into this money pit? Historians will more likely wonder why we even wasted the ink to print this Liberal garbage!

Prevention doesn't work unless large numbers of people agree to be tested.

No, prevention won't work when people continue to be promiscuous. Why would they think people would change their lifestyle after testing postive just to protect others, if they wouldn't change it to prevent becoming infected in the first place?

, has taken up the fight for AIDS victims.

Hmmm, AIDS victims? Many of them are actualy victimisers.

Sex privileges vs. right to health. If Bubba wants to fight against AIDS, he should promote the right of the healthy to be kept rich and healthy first.

Good post (yours, not Bubba's harangue). I mentioned the malaria angle on another thread. The governments and charities can't afford to provide enough cheap medicines for malaria, a potentially-fatal disease which is curable and which causes more deaths per year than AIDS, but now the US is supposed to provide horribly expensive AIDS medicines? Hello? Strange allocation of limited resources, if you ask me.

Not to mention these same governments and charities can't afford to provide enough disposable needles and/or autoclaves, thus spreading diseases (including AIDS) in this fashion.

Any dollars spent on allievating the suffering of Africans would best be spent on vaccination programmes, malaria medicines, primary health education (including AIDS prevention education), assisting with clean water supplies, and providing disposable syringes.

I believe any dollars so spent should come from willing charitable contributions by private citizens, not from our tax dollars. But the US gubmint doesn't agree with me.

apparently Clinton, in wishing to redeem himself, has taken up the fight for AIDS victims.

I think there's also more to this as well. Clinton wants to get major leadership positions in the UN. African concerns are particuarly important to the UN, so I think he's courting support from this UN-supported continent.
