"JimBob"?

Evidently the author doesn't know Free Republic all that well otherwise there could be no way that error could be made.

Anyway, this reminds me of what they say about Rush Limbaugh everytime the Republicans move into power. "What is he going to talk about now?" they always say. Yet he's still around after all these years and even more influential than ever.

Granted there haven't been a lot of grass-root protests since the 2000 elections. The way the country pulled together after the 9/11 terrorist attacks, the successful presidency of GW Bush and the big GOP wins last November don't give us an awful lot to complain about these days. But we are still here and our numbers are growing.

You'll notice on the Alamance site that there is a lot of immigrant Mexican bashing. That seems to be a fixation with the "hate Bush" crowd.

I think Free Republic, running with the ball started by Drudge, really brought the 1st Memorial Wellstone DNC Midterm Convention (aka The Plane Crash Jamboree) to the public conscious. The political resonance of that event really turned the tide of the midterms.

The FReepers were particularly resonant, IMHO.

"JimBob"

I agree! But ... I wonder if it was done on purpose to watch us go ballistic about it ... hmmmm?

Also, this guy really proves he doesn't read FR when he says we don't pick on anybody with an R behind his name. I think our disgust with McCain should put that to rest.

Plus, I don't know of anyone on this website who thinks our President is "God". Most of us honor and respect him, but that's where we draw the line.

I think this guy has another agenda - I think he's trying to goad us into hounding the President about the illegal immigrant situation. I don't appreciate it when someone tries to use my influence to try to influence others.

I condiser FR to be analogious of my three rotts (Chaos, Tennifer and Fluffy) laying on the floor eating and playing around until they are tasked to protect me and my family from unfriendly elements.

FR'll always get er done IMHO........ Stay Safe !

giant protests against liberals and liberalism...hundreds of dissidents ridiculing him for his adultery and perjury... there haven't been a lot of grass-root protests since the 2000 elections...don't give us an awful lot to complain about these days. But we are still here and our numbers are growing.

Also, the notion that to be effective, massive public actions and events are necessary is a symptom of modern liberalism... in the vain that success means governmental action. Republicans, and Freepers, tend to believe that individuals, as individuals, are the true vehicles of change. When I work hard and raise my daughter with my whole heart, mind and strength, then she will grow up to become another part of the quiet, individual solution. If all of us as individuals do our part in this great country, then there will be no need for mass demonstrations. That is idealistic to be sure, but it defines the difference between democrats and Republicans.
