The last exemple is Germany in last century. They started 2 worldwide wars lost both and as a result had theirs teritorry severly trimmed (eastern teritories to Poland, western to France). Nobody today questions this status quo.

An excellent post. Anyone who thinks that Israel should return the Golan Heights because it wasn't theirs prior to the wars must neccessarily believe that Prussia should be returned to Germany.

The 3,000 year old argument is pure bunk, and I think everyone knows it. Use this argument, and you'll have to give all of Europe south of the Rhine to Rome / Italy. There have been conquests throughout history. The whole "God chose this land for us" is a bit silly too: let's keep religion out of this. There's one reason why Israel does have a right to it: the land was British after the Ottoman Empire fell, and they divided the lines the next time around. There wasn't really a country there before, and it wasn't as if one country invaded another sovereign nation and just took the land: the Ottoman empire lost the land in war. And while Israel may be our friends, that's not really a justification about why they get the land. There's only one justification, and that has to do with the fact that the victors got it and gave it to Israel.

Then you came in and start calling everyone a racist. I wish there was some way that threads could be labled "logical debate only" and people like you could be excluded.

Perhaps if you read my posts a lot more closely, digested the arguments, and thought very, very hard, you might start to understand - then again, probably not.

I did read them. A few people made some posts that in my opinion and your opinion are totally wrong. Namely, that the two clashing religions are to blame. Rather than point out that Israel does not deserve blame, and that its the Arabs who are the aggressors, you decided to just call him a racist (like you did to me). The fact is, that Shear's opinion on the matter is not a fringe opinion. It is very widely held throughout the world, and while in some cases it is the result of racism, in others it is the result of liberalism that frowns upon religion. If your goal is to convince people that Israel is correct, then hurling unfounded insults at them is not the way to do it. Now, it may be that Mr. Shear has a long history such that you know that anti-semetism is the cause (and I have made the mistake before of defending people who it turns out had a long record) but given that you just signed up two weeks ago I doubt it.

And just maybe, if you people started, after 2,000 years, to get your act together, we Jews wouldn't have to defend ourselves.

Which friends are those, by the way? I have never seen Mr. Shear's name prior to this thread, if that is who you are referring to.

With that remark, and the "those people" remark, you sound a lot like a lot of people who have been banned on FR for anti-semetism.
